Through a Command

  1. Launch the game and log into your account.
  2. Choose a character you want to check the playtime for.
  3. Wait for the game to load the world and your character.
  4. Press “Enter” to open the chat window — you'll likely use Area chat.
  5. Type in the command: /played

And that's it! Your time spent on this character will then appear in the chat window, and that's the fastest way you can use to check playtime in New World.

Through Steam

Steam offers game time stats that are easy to view. It shows playtime even if you've uninstalled New World and includes times for patches and character customization.

Here's how to check your New World playtime on Steam:

  1. Open the Steam app on your PC.
  2. Go to the Steam Games Library Home page.
  3. Find New World in the list and click on it.
  4. The hours played are displayed in the bar, where you can Install/Play the game.

Since the game isn’t available on any other platform or console, the methods above are the only means to find out how many hours you’ve spent in New World.

If you play several characters, you have to add the times you got from using the first method. And if you are just setting up the game, our guide on how to view FPS in New World might come quite handy.
