Worst Selling Halo Game of All Time

Halo's best-selling sequel of all time was the release of Halo 3, with over $14 trillion worth of copies sold. The trilogy was the most successful group of games ever sold between Bungie and Microsoft. To this date, Halo is still making records, but not as high as before. Some of which, made horrible market value. So which Halo games were the worst-selling of all time?

1 /5

Halo: Spartan Assault

Halo Spartan Assault was the worst-selling Halo game of all time. With sales less than $500k, Spartan Assault brought a new genre to Halo that absolutely no Halo fan really enjoyed. Not only this, but the story was poorly put together, and for a while, was only released on mobile devices.

1

The failure of this game was so horrible, the community seemed to erase it from memory, and barely ever mention the game ever existed. Halo Spartan Assault was released in 2013 in the setting between Halo 3 and Halo 4. It was the second release in the 343 Industries after Bungie left the game's production. Spartan Assault gave quite a scare as a Halo game, and it wasn't until Halo 5 and Halo Infinite the fan base got a bit more excited.

2 /5

Halo: Spartan Strike

As the second worst Halo game ever since the first Halo was released, Combat Evolved, Spartan Strike definitely makes the list as one of the worst-selling Halo games. Spartan Strike was also one of those other genre-related Halo games, that was more or less like mini-games.

2

Halo Spartan Strike never caught that much attention, so much so that it was confused with Spartan Assault. This Halo game was released in 2015, 2 years after the release of Spartan Assault.

3 /5

Halo Wars 2

The sequel to Halo Wars (another one on this list), Halo Wars 2 definitely makes it to the top worst-selling Halo Games of All Time. Compared to all other Halo Campaign releases with 8 million to 9 million sold, Halo Wars 2 only would make it to 500,000 in market value.

3

Halo Wars 2 had a different genre, along with a completely different Lore setup, which ultimately leads to half of the story in Halo Infinite with one of the main antagonists, Atriox. This Halo game did not really make it to its predicted fame, thus also leading millions of Halo fans confused when it came to the Halo Infinite Campaign. Although Atriox was definitely a favorite among Halo characters.

4 /5

Halo Wars

Halo fans will always tell you Halo Wars was their least favorite, and with reason. Not only is the length of the campaign 4 hours' worth of content that bores anyone who plays it, but it gives literally no excitement in story or gameplay.

4

Halo Wars was the original of Halo disappointments when it was released in 2009. Along with being the worst online multiplayer competitive known. It just does not even feel like the famous Halo game everyone knows with the third-person view and arcade style of gameplay.

5 /5

Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary

From the first game in the Halo franchise, 343 Industries decided it was a good idea to revamp the original Halo games, mainly Halo Combat Evolved. The Halo franchise had amazing graphics for the time it was released and playing Halo games from the past with renovated graphics just made Halo game fans even more disappointed.

5

Halo games should not be remade, especially when it came to Halo Combat Evolved, no one wanted to spend a bunch of money on a remake. Combat Evolved is definitely the Father of all of the Halo Franchises, but with respectful reasons. Other Halo games were eventually also remade, and for new gamers coming from the Halo Infinite image, this became essential for them. Specifically, the Master Chief Collection, allows the Halo series to be outside of the Xbox Series exclusivity.
