The Longest Halo Campaigns That Will Keep You Occupied for a Long Time

We all know that sometimes, paying for a campaign then it only ends after a 4-hour grind, is a bit disappointing. Where was the content? Is it really worth the money? To some, they love to enjoy the shortest campaigns in existence. But we aren't talking about Destiny... we are learning about Halo! With this, let's take a look at some of the longest Halo campaigns that exist. 

Halo Infinite

The Halo Infinite campaign length is the longest Halo campaign throughout the entire series. With over ten hours of playtime, Halo Infinite campaign as a single-player has been a record in the Halo games.

Halo Infinite was long awaited by Halo fans with the anticipation of its release in 2020, was postponed to the late months of 2021. Not only is Halo Infinite the longest campaign in the Halo games, but it is also the most visually appalling when it comes to graphics and movement of characters. Along with this, the download size of Halo Infinite is more or less a decent size for a campaign of this length and quality.

Along with being a semi-open world which some players have been asking for years, Halo Infinite is clearly not only an exciting Halo story but the longest Halo campaign among all of the rest. The Halo Infinite missions list consists of fourteen main story missions, along with four side missions.

Halo Infinite is available on Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC.

Halo Combat Evolved

Although the first in the Halo series, Combat Evolved is second to being the longest Halo campaign of all time. Only 30 minutes shy from Halo Infinite's campaign length, Halo Combat Evolved is full of compact and immersive content for 10 hours of your gaming experience.

As the beginning of the Halo universe, other Halo games will never match the excitement of mainline Halo games. Although Halo CE does not consist of online multiplayer. the campaign is what sets the actions of the later Halo games, ultimately bringing us to the Zeta Halo ring in Halo Infinite.

Halo CE first started out on Xbox, and later became available on PC through the Master Chief's Collection.

Halo Wars

Although a twist from the previous halo games, Halo Wars is a campaign based on non-climactic characters unlike Master Chief and his progress. With 9 hours of playtime, Wars brings us to before the first Halo game, following the Spirit of Fire from being controlled by the Covenant. This game features a strategy-focused campaign that is light and overall, just fun as a minigame type of feel.

Halo Wars is not favorited within the Halo Franchise, but it is nevertheless an important piece to the Lore of humanity and the beginning of the Covenant War.

Halo 2

Halo 2 is a part of the main story of the first Halo trilogy. Before Bungie left Microsoft, Halo 2 along with Halo 3 were some of the top hits of the Halo Bungie releases. With 9 hours of campaign time, Halo 2 is the sequel to Halo CE and includes a lot of new characters including the beloved Arbiter who eventually fights alongside Master Chief.

As Halo 2 is not as common anymore among players, Master Chief's latest adventure will never match the intensity of his missions throughout the trilogy. Halo 2 takes us through 15 major missions introducing major events with not only the Arbiter but also the Gravemind and the existence of the flood, along with the Delta Halo missions.

Halo 3

The final fight to save humanity, Halo 3 consisted of 9 whole hours of gameplay. Similar to Halo 2 and the Halo Wars play. If you have played the campaign before though, the hours might be less and less as you gain experience as a lot of fans also try to beat the game through speed runs.

Halo 3 takes us through 9 missions which are significantly less than the other previous games. Master Chief makes his final effort to destroy the Halo in this campaign and ultimately wins with the price of being left behind and lost into space. Overall, the campaign is extremely long but as many players would also agree, Halo 3 is always worth the run-through.

Halo 4

Although it feels way longer, Halo 4 consisted of 8 hours of the campaign. The story is a bit compact with a lot of new faces, concepts, and ideas that 343 Industries introduced into the world of Master Chief. This game guides us through Master Chief's landing onto an unknown planet after drifting in space from the incidents in Halo 3. Here we meet new enemies and new friends.

Halo 4 brings the introduction to Halo 5 and the future of the 343 Industries franchise with Halo. Halo 4 also seems to feel way longer than 8 hours of gameplay... but leave that up to your opinion!

Halo 4 was originally released on Xbox 360 and later implemented into the Master Chief's Collection available on PC.
