How to Solve Genshin Impact Error 31-4302 on PC [Fast Fix]

Check Antivirus for Quarantined Files

I cannot account for every single antivirus software out there, so I hope you can maneuver around the antivirus software installed on your PC.

To troubleshoot Genshin Impact error code 31-4302, also known as encountering problems loading game files, we must first eliminate the possibility of missing files. Therefore, these two steps are your best courses of action:

• Check for any quarantined files from C:\Program Files\Genshin Impact\Genshin Impact Game folder (also known as files that are supposed to be in the Genshin Impact folder)
• Disable the antivirus protection or shields or set antivirus exclusion for C:\Program Files\Genshin Impact\ (also known as the Genshin Impact game folder)

I personally found this step effective when I was trying to learn how to fix Genshin Impact black screens. Finishing this method also helped me how to fix missing audio in Genshin Impact.

Recreate Genshin Impact Installation Folder

Firstly, you will have to turn Windows Security off for the entirety of this method. This method may also be one of the more complicated steps so ensure that you follow the instructions I provide with detail!

Step #1 - Rename Genshin Impact Game Folder

Rename your current Genshin Impact Game folder to something like "GI_old". If you've never renamed a folder, right-click the folder and click "Rename", as shown in the picture above.

Step #2 - Make a New Folder called "Genshin Impact"

In the same place you found the Genshin Impact game folder you just renamed, find a space and right-click. You should be able to see a list of things that you can access. Locate "New" hover above it, and find "Folder". If you have trouble finding it, you can use the picture I provided as a reference.

Step #3 - Delete "blob_storage"

Reopen your old Genshin Impact folder (GI_old), and delete the file named "blob_storage".

Step #4 - Move All Files From the Old to the New Folder

Select all the files found inside "GI_old", and drag them into the new "Genshin Impact" folder.

Step #5 - Create a New Folder Inside the New Folder

Inside the new folder you recently created (Genshin Impact), create another new folder by finding space again inside "Genshin Impact", and this time, name it "Genshin Impact Game".

The file structure's end should look like this: "\Genshin Impact\Genshin Impact Game" if done correctly.

Step #6 - Move Specific Images Into the Newest Folder

Inside the "Genshin Impact" (second-made) folder, drag these files into the "Genshin Impact Game" (last made) folder:

• GenshinImpact_Data
• config.ini
• GenshinImpact.exe
• HoYoKProtect.sys
• pkg_version
• UnityPlayer.dll
• "Audio_<Language>_pkg_version" ex. English ver. would be Audion_English(US)_pkg_version

By the end of dragging the files, your "Genshin Impact Game" folder should look like this:

You can also remove the "Screenshot" folder if you'd like. Once you are done, you can try to launch the game, or before that, you may also restart Genshin Impact with the new file directories.

Reinstall Required Plugins

As some files like plugins may not have been perfectly installed, a reinstallation might be required. here are the steps you can take to rerender them functional again.

Step #1 - Delete "Plugins" Folder

Inside the game installation directory for your Genshin Impact file, find the "GenshinImpact_Data" folder and delete the folder called "Plugins".

Step #2 - Repair Game Files

Using the Genshin Impact game launcher, click the three-lines-buttonright beside the big "Launch" button , and select "Repair Now". If you can't find the buttonyou need to press, refer to the picture I provided above!

Once the repair has been done, launch Genshin Impact with the latest game files.

If all the steps do not work, then I suggest a reinstallation of Genshin Impact as a whole. Genshin Impact's download size is getting bigger, so ensure you have enough memory space.
