TNT is one of the unique blocks in Minecraft that can explode on ignite and destroy other blocks. Although it is quite useful to demolish structures and mine areas, TNT is kinda easy to craft. You just need some Sand and Gunpowder.
- 4x Sand/Red sand
- 5x Gunpowder
How to craft TNT in Minecraft
#1 Collect 4x Sand/Red Sand
Sand is a common block in Minecraft that is generated naturally in many biomes. You can find them mostly in the Desert and Beach biome. Some Sand veins can also be found near lakes or rivers.
Red Sand is another variation of Sand and they only spawn in the Badlands biome.
Chest in the Desert Temple also has a 59% chance to contain 1-8x Sand.
Finally, you can trade 8x Sand or 4x Red Sand with the Wandering trader for 1x Emerald.
#2 Collect 5x Gunpowder
Gunpowder is an item dropped by Creepers, Ghasts, and Witches. Creepers and Ghasts drop 0-2x Gunpowder on death, while Witches can drop up to 6x Gunpowder. If you have a Looting III sword, you can receive up to 15x Gunpowder.
You can also find Gunpowder in chests in generated structures like Dungeons, Desert Temples, Shipwrecks, and Woodland Mansions. They have a high chance to contain 1-8x Gunpowder.
Another way to get Gunpowder is to trade with the Wandering Trader. They sell 1x Gunpowder for 1x Emerald.
#3 Finish off crafting a TNT
When you have 4x Sand/Red Sand and 5x Gunpowder, right-click the crafting table and place 5x Gunpowder in the X shape, and fill 4 remaining slots with 4x Sand/Red Sand to craft 1x TNT.
You can also find TNT generated naturally in the Desert Pyramid or Woodland Mansion. They contain 9x and 2x TNT blocks respectively.

The command to give yourself a TNT is: /give @p tnt 1
