The 10 Pokemon Best Against Fairy Type Pokemon [Ranked]

1 /10

Zacian

A super powerful Legendary Pokemon, Zacian is one of the best Fairy type Pokémon as well as being the best counter to Fairy types.

Zacian is just that good!

Zacian takes only half damage from Fairy type attacks thanks to its Steel type, which also gives it STAB for Steel type moves. Thanks to Zacian's monstrously high stats it slaps hard, making it a fantastic choice in many different situations.

Zacian Crowned Sword

Zacian's Steel type gives it an immunity to Poison type attacks, negating Fairy type's weakness to Poison, as well as Dragon type attacks, making it a great choice in battle.

But not only does Zacian have an advantageous type match up, its movepool is fantastic.

Not only does Zacian get a whole slew of Steel type moves along with other types, it has access to Poison Jab, a powerful Poison type move that sends its fellow Fairies packing.

What a good girl!

2 /10

Revavroom

Revavroom is essentially built to tackle Fairy type Pokemon, as its two types are the Fairy type weaknesses.

Being a Poison and a Steel type Pokemon gives Revavroom an edge over Fairy types, but its stats and movepool aren't quite as good as Zacian's - putting it into a solid second place.

Revavroom

But make no mistake, Revavroom is a great counter to Fairy type Pokemon because it takes only a quarter of the damage from Fairy type attacks thanks to its two resistances to Fairy type.

Its Attack stat is pretty nice as well, and with moves like Iron Head and Poison Jab for dealing super effective damage, it's a solid choice. And its unique design theme based around car engines is a real winner.

Its main weaknesses are its somewhat lackluster stats outside of its Attack, and its not very varied movepool. But when it comes to taking on Fairy types, it's a great choice.

3 /10

Metagross

A powerful pseudo-Legendary Pokemon, Metagross is a great choice in battle against many types, not just Fairy types.

This Psychic and Steel type Pokémon gets great Steel type attacks like Meteor Mash and Iron Head, while also getting Poison moves like Sludge Bomb too.

Metagross

With an alien design looking like a strange metallic spider, Metagross is great against many pure Fairy type Pokemon as well as a lot of dual types too thanks to its great movepool and fantastic stats.

Metagross can even Mega Evolve into Mega Metagross, taking its design theme even further and boosting its power very nicely.

Fans of Mega Evolution should check out this list of the best Mega Evolved forms!

Mega Metagross

Mega Metagross has insane stats on par with many powerful Legendary Pokemon, making it a brilliant option.

And its design, looking halfway between a robot crab and a spider, gives it a completely unique aesthetic that's absolutely perfect for fans of its aloof, alien charms!

4 /10

Iron Moth

A Future Paradox Pokemon from Pokémon Violet, Iron Moth has both the Poison and Fire types which give it a double resistance to Fairy type moves.

Featuring a sleek futuristic design that clearly takes notes from Volcarona, its supposed modern day counterpart, Iron Moth gets a great set of tools for tackling Fairy Pokemon.

Iron Moth

It gets great access to Poison type moves like Sludge Wave, while also getting Steel type moves like Flash Cannon. Perfect for using with its whopping 140 Special Attack!

Iron Moth is a powerful Pokemon with great Special Defense and Speed, too, making it perfect to use against many Fairy type Pokemon.

5 /10

Salazzle

One of the best Fire type Pokémon, Salazzle is a great choice against Fairy type Pokemon thanks to its Poison type. Salazzle has a double resistance to Fairy type moves while also getting powerful Poison type moves like Sludge Bomb to deal double damage.

Salazzle

But Salazzle's Fire type can be useful against Fairy type Pokemon like Tinkaton too, which has the Steel type and is usually immune to Poison. Not only that, but Salazzle's Corrosion Ability lets it hit Steel type Pokemon too!

Salazzle is a versatile Pokemon with a great design, good utility, and great Special Attack and Speed stats. Perfect for taking on Fairy type Pokemon!

6 /10

Gholdengo

Introduced in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Gholdengo is an unusual Ghost and Steel type Pokemon with a whole lot of utility.

This funky looking Pokemon has seen great success in competitive play during the Scarlet/Violet era thanks to its great dual typing and excellent movepool.

While its unusual and eye-catching design isn't for everyone, it's certainly a bold choice, and it definitely makes Gholdengo a memorable Pokémon indeed!

Using powerful Steel type moves like Steel Beam or its Signature Move, Make It Rain, Gholdengo can take out most Fairy type Pokémon with ease.

Gholdengo

With eight resistances and three type immunities Gholdengo is a brilliant choice. Unlike most Steel types it has nothing to worry about from Fighting type opponents as it's totally immune to Fighting type moves!

Gholdengo has great utility which makes it when of the best choices to use in battle against Fairy type Pokemon.

7 /10

Glimmora

Glimmora has an unusual crystalline design hinting at an origin in Paldea's Area Zero, the enigmatic final dungeon of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's main story.

A Rock and Poison type Pokemon, Glimmora gets good options for super effective damage against Fairy type Pokemon.

Glimmora

Great with a whole range of Poison type attacks like Sludge Wave, Gunk Shot, and Sludge Bomb, Glimmora can also use Steel type move Flash Cannon to hit both Fairy type weaknesses.

8 /10

Nidoking & Nidoqueen

The first Pokemon with gender differences in the entire Pokémon franchise, Nidoking and Nidoqueen are good options against Fairy Pokemon.

Their flexible and varied movepools mean that they can use a wide variety of types of move, from Flying type moves to Ice and even Water type moves.

Nidoking and Nidoqueen

This makes them versatile Pokemon with a lot of advantages. Not only are they great Poison types, they get Steel type moves like Iron Tail too.

Great for hitting Fairy types right where they're weak!

Nidoking and Nidoqueen have fantastic yet simple designs, being a weird and wonderful mashup of rabbits, rhinos, and kaiju. Definitely unique!

9 /10

Toxapex

A strong defensive option, Toxapex is a great staller and has brilliant Defense and Special Defense stats. As a Poison and Water dual type Pokémon Toxapex is a good choice against Fairy type Pokémon.

Toxapex

Although it can only hit one of the Fairy type Pokemon weaknesses, Toxapex's strong defensive utility makes it a very tempting option.

As many Fairy type Pokemon are strong special attackers, Toxapex is able to take hits while chipping away where its opponent is weak. Not bad for a spiky little sea urchin.

10 /10

Escavalier

A somewhat unusual Bug type Pokemon, Escavalier is great in battle against Fairy Pokemon. Getting a spread of great Steel moves like Iron Head and Smart Strike, along with some Poison moves as well, Escavalier can hit Fairy Pokemon where they're weak.

Escavalier

Its bug type moves aren't very useful against Fairy Pokemon, which have a resistance to Bug, but its other moves are brilliant options and its physical attack pairs well with its high defensive stats.

A good, if somewhat unconventional, choice in battle against Fairy type Pokémon!

And its totally unique bug-knight aesthetic pops, giving it all sorts of medieval-themed rizz fit for the joust!
