The Reason behind Valorant Error Code 62

In normal situations, this error code should not be at the gamer’s fault. On the official Riot Games support site banner for error codes it is stated that the reason for Valorant Error Code 62 is “NoGamepodsToPingFailure”. This may not sound understandable at first glance for the average Valorant player, but it is not something really serious you should be worried about.

This essentially means that your network cannot send information back to the Valorant servers, thus resulting in the Valorant Error Code 62. One reason for this is if a bad start of the Riot Client was performed. The moment you start your Riot Client, your game starts communicating with the servers. So if this communication is jammed up, it will result in the Valorant Error Code 62.

Another reason for this error code is if the Valorant servers are actually experiencing issues, so they cannot properly send the needed information to your game. This can usually happen after a release of a new update in its early stages or if there is server maintenance.

The Valorant Error Code 62 is not a complicated error code to deal with. So knowing why you might be getting it is excellent, as next up you will learn how you can fix it.

How to Fix Valorant Error Code 62

Restart Riot Client

The first solution you can try out to fix the Valorant Error Code 62, that even Riot Games recommends you try out first, is to restart the Riot Client. If restarting the game client did not fix your Error Code Val 62, then do not worry, as the problem with it most probably is not even your fault.

Check the Riot Servers

A lot of error codes know how to ask for comprehensive fixes, most notably error codes connected with the Riot Vanguard and the Riot Client. Not the Valorant Error Code 62 though. Across all global versions of the game, the Valorant Error Code 62 most probably appears on Riot Games’ side due to issues with the game servers.

In this situation, you can check the game servers. To do this, you will go on the official Riot Games support site banner and select the Service Status tab above. This will lead you to a new page, where you will have to select the region upon which your Riot ID is registered. If you notice server maintenance or server issues, the best thing you can do is wait it out until the Riot Devs do a testing of the servers and fix the issue.

You can also check the official Valorant Twitter account, as they can announce server maintenance and server errors there.

Though what if there are not any problems with the servers? No worries, there is still one last solution that you can try out.

Flush DNS and Restart Router

Because this error code is more oriented towards network connectivity issues, it does not mean the issues will always lie on the Riot server’s side. What you can do in this situation is to flush your DNS and restart your router.

To flush your DNS, you will go to the Search Bar below, search for Command Prompt, right-click it and run it as an Administrator. Then type in these following commands:

  • "ipconfig /flushdns", hit Enter
  • "ipconfig /registerdns", hit Enter
  • "ipconfig /release", hit Enter
  • "ipconfig /renew", hit Enter
  • "netsh winsock reset", press Enter
