The Best Mouse Settings
Nailing your mouse settings from the get-go is crucial. It's usually the thing that holds back Master ranked players from becoming fully fledged Apex Predator ranked players.
It's important to mention that your in game mouse sensitivity might have to change based on what kind of mouse you're using. Certain mice operate better at higher sensitivity, while others operate better at lower sensitivity. Finding the sweet spot for your own mouse is the key to unlocking the best mouse sensitivity for you. I use the following:
Setting | Value |
---|---|
Mouse Sensitivity | 1.10 |
Mouse Sensitivity (ADS) | 1.0 |
Mouse Acceleration | Off |
Mouse Invert | Off |
Clamp Mouse to Game WIndow | Off |
Lighting Effects | On |
Per Optic ADS | On |
Now let's look at the Per Optic settings that I use in Apex Legends.
Optic | Value |
---|---|
X1 | 1 |
X2 | 1 |
X3 | 1 |
X4 | 1 |
X6 | 0.9 |
X8 | 0.8 |
X10 | 0.9 |
The reason I use these values is because I want my long-range optics to have a slight "sluggish" feeling to them. This helps me make those long-range shots more effectively. Especially if the enemy is moving. The same with my regular mouse sensitivity. I keep it low so that it's easier to lead enemies.
The Best Keyboard Settings (Keybindings)
For my keyboard settings, I don't actually change that much. I find the default settings to be quite convenient, except for two things.
I prefer to have my melee buttonas Mouse 5, with my Ping buttonas Mouse 4. The default Melee and Ping buttonsfeel "unreachable" in certain cases. You'd ideally want each buttonto be within arms reach (or should I say hands reach in this instance?) If you have to make large movements with your hands to reach crucial button s, you're gonna have a bad time.
Alternate Keybindings
You might have noticed some of the best Apex Legends streamers often use alternate key binds. You've also probably wondered what the best alternate key binds are, haven't you? Well, here's the answer.
drumroll There are none. The best Apex Legends key binds are the ones you find the most comfortable with. So go into your in game settings and select whatever you find the most convenient. An alternate setup that I sometimes use is the following:
Keybinding | Value |
---|---|
Melee | 5 |
Ping | 4 |
Syringe | F |
Medkit | G |
Shield Cell | V |
Shield Batter | B |
Fire Mode Select | ] |
The benefit of this setup over the default is that all of your consumables are much closer and more condensed than usual, allowing for quick access to everything. To summarize, the following is the most important piece of information to take away from all of this. Your Apex Legends settings should be set to whatever you find the most comfortable, as that's the only way you'll truly have a better experience.
