How to Fix Apex Legends Code 408 [Once and For All]

The Easy Way to Fix Error Code 408

Error Code 408 is actually a network error. It may be the reason why you're unable to connect to matches in Apex, or, in even worse cases, completely unable to connect to Apex Legends' servers.

Don't worry though, there's an easy fix to this. All you have to do is:

  1. Go on to your platform's Device Settings. This step is the same, regardless of whether you're playing on PC or Console.
  2. Locate the Network Connections or Network Settings tab and open it.
  3. It may show you multiple network connections. Select the primary one that you are using.
  4. Restart Apex Legends. After that, you should have rid yourself of this nasty error code.

Sometimes, however, this process may not resolve your issue. Some of the error codes in Apex Legends are like that sometimes. In those instances, you'll have to employ the hard approach instead.

The Hard Way to Fix Error Code 408

The hard way requires you to do a few extra steps, but it will almost certainly fix your issues. (Your network issues at least, you'll have to visit a licensed therapist for any other issues you may have.)

Here's how to do it the hard way:

  1. Head on over to Device Settings again and locate your Network Settings.
  2. Click on Change Adapter Settings
  3. It should give you a list. Select the network card that needs to be changed and right-click it.
  4. Select Properties
  5. Switch on over to Internet Protocol Version 4
  6. Click on Properties again and select the Advanced tab
  7. Disable the Automatic Metric
  8. After that, head on over to Interface Metric Textbox and add in a high-value number to increase your network's priority.

Error Code 408 isn't like Error Code 13, so a restart isn't really a necessary step. I just like to restart my PC when doing things like this, just to be sure. If you've followed the steps so far, then you should have fixed your Code 408 issues once and for all.
