Best Attack Strategies For Town Hall 3 In Clash of Clans

Before we dive into the best beginner armies for Town Hall 3, let’s quickly understand your maximum army capacity at this Town Hall level. You'll have access to 70 Troop Capacity and 10 Clan Castle Troop Capacity. Make sure to upgrade your troops to their max level for the best results and let's get straight into it.

1 /4

The first attack strategy you can practice is the famous BARCH strategy. The phrase “BARCH” refers to Barbarians and Archers. As the name suggests, you’ll be using a combination of those two troops. Your army composition should look like this:

Barch

OPTIONAL: If you have access to Clan Castle Troops, you should request Giants or Balloons to strengthen your army.

Kill Mortar

  1. The main idea of the army is to send your Barbarians and Archers in small groups and batches.

  2. You want to put three to four Barbarians in front of some outer buildings to act as a meat shield for your Archers.

  3. After placing your Barbarians, support the Barbarians by placing three to four Archers behind them.

  4. Keep repeating the same process throughout the other portions of the base. Ideally, you’d want to make sure you have groups of Barbarians and Archers attacking around the entire enemy base.

  5. Make sure to send more groups of Barbarians and Archers immediately so that the enemy defenses will be overwhelmed.

  6. You also have two Wall Breakers if your Barbarians and Archers have difficulty going past a Wall compartment.

Send Barch To Kill Other Defenses

2 /4

Giant + Archer

The second army we’ll cover is the Giant Archer strategy. For this strategy, you’ll use Giants to tank for your Archers to clean up the rest of the base. Your army composition should look like this:

Giant Archer

OPTIONAL: If you have access to Clan Castle Troops, you should request Giants or Wizards to strengthen your army.

Giant Archer Placement

  1. The main idea of the army is to send all of your Giants to tank and destroy defensive buildings.

  2. Your main goal is to destroy the enemy Mortar building first. So, deploy your Giants on the side where the Mortar is located.

  3. Make sure to send in Wall Breakers along with your Giants to get through Wall compartments.

  4. You will be deploying all your Archers behind your Giants to support them. Try deploying your Archers in a straight line instead of clumping them up.

  5. Clumping your Archers will leave them vulnerable to the enemy Mortar, which is not ideal. Only do this if the Mortar has been destroyed!

  6. The Giants will protect the Archers and begin clearing the rest of the enemy base, speeding up the process.

3 /4

Giant + Barch

The third army combines Giants and the BARCH strategy we’ve covered earlier. Using this combination will give you more flexibility than the previous two armies discussed previously. Your army composition should look like this:

Giant Barch

OPTIONAL: If you have access to Clan Castle Troops, you should request Giants or Balloons to strengthen your army.

Giant Barch

  1. The main idea is using your six Giants to remove the enemy Mortar.
  2. You will send all your Giants to immediately take down the Mortar, using Wall Breakers to get them in the base.
  3. Drop a few Archers to help out your Giants. Save the rest of your Barbarians and Archers until the Mortar is taken down.
  4. Once the Mortar is destroyed, deploy all your Barbarians and Archers behind your Giants to swarm the base.
  5. By the time your Giants are all dead, your Barbarians and Archers will have already cleared out most of the base and can complete the remainder of the attack.

4 /4

Giant + Goblins

The final army we’ll cover is a combination between Giants and Goblins. We’ll also sneak in a few Archers. The reason why we’re using Goblins is because they can shred through resource buildings faster than any other troop you can get at Town Hall 3. Your army composition should look like this:

Giant Goblin

OPTIONAL: If you have access to Clan Castle Troops, you should request Giants or Wizards to strengthen your army.

Giant Goblin

  1. We’ll follow the common trend: sending your Giants to destroy the enemy Mortar as fast as possible.

  2. You will also have to support your Giants with Wall Breakers and some Archers behind them.

  3. Once you have cleared through the enemy defenses, and only one Cannon or Archer Tower is left standing, that’s when you want to start deploying your Goblins.

  4. Your Goblins will tear through the base, and since they deal double damage to resource buildings, your Goblins will clean up the base much faster than any other troop at this Town Hall level.
