[Tier List] Best Legends in Brawlhalla Ranked

Brawlhalla is pretty well balanced, but there are definitely some characters that are better than others. If you want to learn which Legends best use the current staple weapons, here’s a table for that.

1

What factors play into how good a Legend is?

We used the following factors to determine position in the meta:

  • Pro stats

  • Weapon combination

  • Stat spread

  • Signature Attack hitboxes

  • Signature Attack frame data

Who are the Best Legends right now in Brawlhalla?

After looking at the above stats, we’ve determined that the best legends in Brawlhalla right now are:

  • Azoth

  • Ember

  • Bodvar

  • Diana

  • Ezio

  • Jhala

  • Kohi

  • Yumiko

  • Xull

  • Val

  • Mordexs

S-Tier

Almost everyone in S-Tier has one or two of the best weapons in brawlhalla, but it’s really their stats that give them an edge over the rest of the cast.

Azoth

Ember

Bodvar

Diana

Ezio

Jhala

Koji

Yumiko

Xull

Val

Mordex

Excluding Bödvar, most of these Legends fall into two categories: I like to call them Glass Cannons, and Juggernauts.

Both of these categories have 7+ Strength, making them take stocks quicker than most Legends, but where they differ is in their second highest stat.

Glass Cannons, such as Ember, Jhala, and Val, have Speed or Dexterity as their second highest stat, making them very nimble, but also very fragile. To optimally play a Glass Cannon, your movement needs to be very tight, and your spacing must be practically perfect.

Juggernauts, such as Xull, Mordex, and Azoth, have Defense as their second highest stat, making them lumbering behemoths, demolishing anything in their path. To play a Juggernaut optimally, you’ll need to focus on downloading the opponent, or learning their patterns and properly punishing them with lengthy strings or gimps.

A-Tier

The A-Tier hosts the vast majority of the roster. You’ll see all sorts of playstyles here, the hyper-bruiser Teros, to the alacritous Artemis.

Artemis

Barraza

Cassidy

Wu Shang

Ulgrim

Onyx

Magyar

Hattori

Teros

Ragnir

Jaeyun

Caspian

Reno

Scarlet

Rayman

Petra

Zariel

Orion

Thor

Sentinel

Arcadia

The only things keeping these Legends from being S-Tier are either poor weapon combos (such as Zariel’s Bow and Gauntlets), or stat spreads that are too even (like Jaeyun), which leads to a Legend just being mediocre, overall.

Best combos and strings for Zariel

2

To be clear, these Legends are not bad, by any means. The majority of them have seen a fair amount of play at a high level, in both 1v1s and 2v2s (Bralhalla Ranked Matchmaking), but they aren’t quite the best.

B-Tier

B-Tier is where some of the more finicky or niche legends start to show up.

Ada

Asuri

Fait

Kor

Mirage

Volkov

Brynn

Nyx

Lord Vraxx

Munin

Petra

Cheesy characters, such as Volkov, Rayman, and Fait, aren’t horrible, per se, but they require a much more nuanced understanding of both their kits and how those kits work in every matchup. Another way of looking at it is like this: 10 hours spent training to learn a B-Tier Legend’s playstyle will give you equivalent experience to spending 1-3 hours training with a higher tier character.

3

C-Tier

Gnash

Queen Nai

Isaiah

Lin Fei

Jiro

Sir Roland

Dusk

The C-Tier is where some of the cheesiest, poorly designed Legends sit. You’ll notice that a lot of these legends are very old (Orion, Queen Nai, Sir Roland, etc.), which goes to show how far Blue Mammoth Games has come, in terms of balance and design. I would recommend against picking up a

D-Tier

The D-Tier is really the worst of the worst. These Legends struggle in all sorts of ways, whether it’s Cross’s general weakness and risk due to poorly designed Signature Attacks, Vector’s horrible stat spread, or… whatever Thatch is doing.

Thatch

Lucian

Cross

Mako

Vector

The D-Tier is really the only set of Legends that are strictly bad - seriously, do not play these Legends. Not only do they perform poorly, but they’re not even fun to play against. Think about how many times you’ve been killed by Thatch’s cannonballs. Did you ever feel like you deserved it?

4

Though each Legend is pretty well balanced, individual weapons are not quite the same. In short, the meta is currently dominated by string heavy weapons, such as Bow, Axe, and Gauntlets, but there’s a lot more that goes into determining that than meets the eye.

Who is the hardest legend to master?

Some of the hardest legends to master in Brawlhalla are:

  • Mordex

  • Nix

  • Caspian

  • Artemis

  • Isaiah

Who is the easiest legend for beginners?

The easiest legends to play in Brawlhalla are Koji, Sir Roland, Val, Hattori, Mirage and Orion.

  • Koji: His primary weapon, a bow, is ideal for aggressive attacks and pressuring the opponent. It has a small hitbox but a high damage rate and rapid attacks. His secondary weapon, a sword, has a quick attack rate but lower damage. Overall, this character is perfect for players new to Brawlhalla

  • Roland: Sir Roland's default loadout is the Rocket Lance as his main and the Sword as his secondary. The former is useful for its sharp attacks at mid-range, or fast movements, while the latter is useful for rapid attacks, despite having low damage. This combination makes Sir Roland a decent choice for newer players who are learning how to play Brawlhalla

  • Val: Val uses the gauntlets Gantulets as a primary weapon and the sword as a secondary weapon. The gauntlets are good for dealing multiple attacks in quick succession. The sword is better suited to defensive zoning and building up damage by attacking with combos. Overall, Val is another solid choice for Brawlhalla newbies

  • Hattori: Hattori combines the Sword as her primary weapon with the Spear as her secondary. The quick attacks of her sword and the poking hits with spinning movements of her spear make Hattori another easy-to-play-with choice for beginners.

  • Mirage: Mirage uses the Scythe and Spear, combining close-range attacks with good control of distance with quick jabs and spinning movements. Her dexterity and strength make her stand out from other characters, which is why she is so easy to play with for beginners.

Who is the most used Legend in Brawlhalla?

The most used legends in Brawlhalla are Mordex, Nix, Artemis, and Orion. In ESports the most used legend is Mordex!

Which character has the highest win rate in Brawlhalla?
