Fiora is one of the best top lane champions to one-trick. And the starting point to that is learning how to build her effectively. These are the best Fiora build, runes, spells, items League of Legends can offer her, and her greatest counters.
Best Fiora Build
Fiora is anything but a simple champion to play. She is one of the best in-game duelists and is not a champion that beginners should try. She is reserved for more experienced players.
Best Fiora Runes
As a top lane skirmisher champion, whose strength lies in her damage and mobility, instead of tankiness and sustain, Fiora uses her damage and attack speed, in conjunction with Precision Tree runes, to make up for the difference.
Fiora’s abilities allow her to quickly stack the Conqueror rune, and thus heal back the health she loses in an early game trade, while Triumph lets her have a 1v1 one after another, without getting one shot after a single fight by nearby enemy champions.
Last Stand is there to allow her to deal even more damage, because while playing Fiora, you must fight in the frontline without the advantages afforded to the pure tank champions, and your only survival tool being your mobility and CC counter, which must be timed perfectly.
Best Rune Path | Precision ![]() | Resolve ![]() |
Best Keystone | Conqueror ![]() | |
Best Slot 1 (Rune) | Triumph ![]() | Bone Plating ![]() |
Best Slot 2 (Rune) | Legend: Alacrity ![]() | Unflinching ![]() |
Best Slot 3 (Rune) | Last Stand ![]() |
As expected, to help along her early game trades with other top lane champions, as the second best Fiora runes are Resolve.
Bone plating helps with enemy combos having reduced damage, allowing her to use her passive and proc the enemy’s vitals, while Unflinching is there so she doesn’t get run down easily.
Best Fiora Rune Shards
There are a few League of Legends champions, designed by Riot Games, that are melee and yet specialize in Attack Speed. Fiora is one of those, and the most skill-intensive one to boot.
Best Rune Shards | Effect |
Offense ![]() | +10% Attack Speed |
Flex ![]() | +9 Adaptive Force |
Defense ![]() | +6 Armor |
As damage dealing champion, she thus chooses Attack Speed and Adaptive Force as her two Rune Shards, for early game trades.
And, as most champions in the top lane deal physical damage, her last Rune Shard is Armor.
Best Fiora Spells
When it comes to Summoner Spells, there are only a few champions who are managing League of Legends trials, without using Flash. Those are Shaco or Tryndamere. For Fiora, Flash is a must-have, as Flash is, without a doubt, the best Summoner Spell in the game, overall, anyway.

Teleport | ![]() |
Teleport, on the other hand, is the usual pick for champions that can achieve kills by relying on their own kit, such as what the Grand Duelist possesses. So, it’s used to achieve lane dominance with a cheater’s recall or to make a good Teleport play elsewhere.
Best Fiora Abilities Order
The first ability to level on Fiora, out of her ability order, is her Q - Lunge. With it, you can easily proc your passive on an enemy champion, and they will be hard-pressed to defend or trade, as her passive heals Fiora and grants bonus movement speed, while dealing a percentage of the target’s max health.
After that, the next ability in her skill order is her E - Bladework, which empowers the next two auto attacks, and makes the first one slow the enemy, and the second one guaranteed to critically strike. It’s also an auto attack reset, so it must be mastered for maximum damage.
Finally, besides Fiora’s ultimate, we have her E - Riposte. Riposte stops all incoming damage, and returns enemy CC onto the first enemy champion hit, so it must be used with perfect timing.
And, as always, Fiora’s Ultimate - Grand Challenge, must be leveled at levels 6, 11, and 16. It’s the ability that allows her to push a side lane, and have her team win team fights, as just one person is not enough to defend against her.
Best Fiora Items
Fiora top is meant to split push a side lane, avoiding a team fight, and forcing the enemy to come to her, only to kill all comers by striking vitals and healing more than the enemy can damage her.
Best Starter Fiora Items
Fiora is a damage-dealing top lane champion, and as such, starts out with a Doran’s Blade, for the AD and omnivamp. And, of course, a Health Potion.

Best Mid Game Fiora Items
In the mid-game, if you’ve played the laning phase correctly, your core build should be ready. It consists of a non-negotiable Goredrinker as a Mythic Item, for the healing and added damage on its Active, Plated Steelcaps, and Ravenous Hydra.
First Item | Second Item | Third Item |
Goredrinker ![]() | Plated Steelcaps ![]() | Ravenous Hydra ![]() |
Goredrinker is the best item in the game, for champions that rely on healing, and, when playing top lane, Plated Steelcaps are usually a no-brainer. Ravenous Hydra, aside from its useful stats, provides helps Fiora with a good waveclear Active, which she desperately lacks.
Best Final Late Game Fiora Items
Fiora, as we’ve said, is a champion that actively avoids team fights, and dominating a side lane is all she does.
First Item | Second Item | Third Item | Fourth Item | Fifth Item | Sixth Item |
Goredrinker ![]() | Plated Steelcaps ![]() | Ravenous Hydra ![]() | Death’s Dance ![]() | Maw of Malmortius ![]() | Hullbreaker ![]() |
As such, her full build is geared towards allowing her to either kill the champions they send to stop her or have the entire enemy team come for her, losing objectives on the other side of the map.
Death’s Dance lets her outheal pyhsical burst damage, while Maw does the same for magic damage, and Hullbreaker is the best item for split pushing.
Strongest Champions Against Fiora
Fiora loses to champions that don’t allow her to play her in-and-out early-game trading playstyle. Lunge prioritizes vitals, and even still, Wukong evades those, while Warwick outheals them and Singed grounds her with his E.

Weakest Champions Against Fiora
Fiora excels playing intochampions that like to take short trades. She likes her trades to take longer than usual, as she has enough sustained damage to win every one of them, and with her mobility, to catch even highly mobile champions, such as Akali.
