Best Kayn Skins | LoL
Shieda Kayn is the cliche shounen anime protagonist in League of Legends. However, cliches are classics for a reason, because they’re awesome!
A Noxian orphan, Kayn impressed the most famous League of Legends assassin, Zed, with his tenacity and defiance. He has since become The Shadow Reaper of the Order of Shadows and has joined the game bearing a sickle, one that is a source of corrupting power. Because of the nostalgia Kayn evokes, we bring you the best skins he can offer.
If Riot Games did not give enough of a nod to Bleach with Kayn’s base champion design, they sure did so with the Soulhunter Kayn skin. He, quite literally, becomes a shinigami, severing the fate of all souls with his Darkin Scythe.
The Soulhunter Kayn skin was released on July 11, 2017, and as such is the oldest Kayn skin, with a price tag of 1350 RP. This champion skin brings special updates to Kayn’s in-game model, both to his Shadow Assassin and Rhaast forms.
The specialty of this skin is in the color scheme of the two forms Kayn can take in League of Legends. The champion’s red and blue forms are inverted with this skin, with Rhaast being an ethereal green, and Shadow Assassin acquiring the red-colored form. It should be mentioned that on this skin, the Shadow Step ability looks expecially ominuous, as well as the fact that Rhaast works better on this skin than others, and though you may lack damage with the chosen form, you will more than make up for it with your win ratio of ranked games.
As the base champion design for Kayn focuses on his battle for supremacy between two opposing sides, his Shadow Assassin and Rhaast persona, the Odyssey Kayn skin puts this champion in a setting never-before seen in League of Legends.
The Odyssey Kayn skin is Kayn’s olny Legendary skin, to date, with a price of 1820 RP. As such, this skin, as Legendary skins are, is a complete overhaul of the champion’s in-game visual and audio experience. It was released on September 12, 2018, to join the other skins from the Odyssey skin line.
As stated before, the Odyssey Kayn skin brings two opposing League of Legends factions together to form one entity, that of the Demaxian Empire, borne of Demacia and Noxus both. It is an interesting counterweight to Kayn, whose sole purpose in the game is to choose the form he becomes, and thus becoming either an assassin or bruiser champion.
Though the official name of this skin is Nightbringer Kayn, we all know that there are two separate entities at war inside of this League of Legends champion. The two incarnations Riot Games have decided upon are Dawnbringer Kayn and Nightbringer Kayn, mirroring the Shadow Assassin and Rhaast form of the base champion, respectfully.
The Nightbringer Kayn skin was released on September 23, 2021, as part of the event tied to the League of Legends World Championship, and the subsequent celebrations. Once again, the color scheme is inverted, with Shadow Assassin being the red form, and Rhaast taking on the blue form.
Priced at 1350 RP, this skin is a special one, with new updates to all of Kayn’s in-game animations and sounds. As the new skin added to Kayn’s collection, and being tied to such an important League of Legends event, it also possesses a Prestige skin. WIth this skin, Kayn’s base form is not that of a human, but of a demigod. One that will either become Dawn Kayn, the Shadow Assassin incarnation of this skin, or Night Kayn should Rhaast take over, and bring them to Runeterra as a god once he masters the Darkin Scythe.
Shieda Kayn, the Shadow Reaper of the Order of Shadows, is a name and a title that even the edgiest anime protagonist will envy. His skins, on the other hand, show far more maturity, exploring themes such as politics and social unrest of the Odyssey Kayn skin, and whether the goal justifies the means that the Nightbringer Kayn skin asks.
In any case, while we don’t like seeing a Kayn on the enemy team, his skins are definitely something to marvel at.
Just as Kayn is an anime protagonist, we have the classic anime antagonist in the form of Kayle. A self-righteous being of pure power, her will is law in Demacia, and her skins shine with a scorching light, the best of which we have listed the best Demacia skins on our site.
At the same time, all across Runeterra legends are made and unmade, but their skins last forever. To see the best this universe has to offer, all you have to do is follow our lead on the best skins in LoL.
