Best Nidalee Skins | LoL
As a more brutal version of the fabled Tarzan, Nidalee stands guard over the jungles of Shurima, leading her adopted family, proving that blood is not thicker than water.
Nidalee is a champion that was released just two months after the official launch of League of Legends and was the second champion to be released. As Nidalee is a shapeshifting Bestial Huntress, her forms in-game are numerous, and because of that, we bring our pick of the best ones.
The first skin on our list is one that only the true mains of Nidalee own. This skin was given out during the World Finals, or Mid-season Invitational, as a way to commemorate the epic battles that marked the season. Challenger Nidalee was released on January 14, 2016, and is a Legacy-rated skin, and as such can only be purchased with the opening of the Legacy Vault.
Challenger Nidalee has one single chroma, which is golden in color. It’s worth pointing out that this chroma can no longer be acquired, so if you see someone in your game with it, be advised that your jungle will be stalked by a master huntress.
Challenger Nidalee is an update to the champion lore itself. No longer is Nidalee a simple huntress protecting her territory, but the Queen of the Jungle, one that rules her domain alongside her spiritual cougar companions. The skin updates Nidalee’s animations, sounds, and gives her abilities, in both her human and cougar form, new particle effects, which are very, very pink.
Warring Kingdoms Nidalee
Riot truly does love taking inspiration from Chinese history and mythology. The Warring Kingdom series of skins, including the Warring Kingdom Nidalee skin, is taking heavy inspiration from the Warring Kingdoms era of Chinese history, and it works very well, in this case.
The skin was released on February 10, 2015, and is priced at 975 RP. With this, mid-range price, Warring Kingdoms Nidalee gets limited new animations, sounds, and particle effects.
The model and the splash art themselves are worth the price in our opinion, however. Warring Kingdoms Nidalee gives the character an air of a civilized femme fatale, that knows her worth and can still skewer you with her javelin from a hundred paces away.
Cosmic Huntress Nidalee
The Cosmic Huntress Nidalee is one Nidalee’s newer skins, released on November 24, 2020. While the skin is priced at 1350 RP, Cosmic Huntress is Nidalee’s skin with the largest amount of available chromas for purchase.
As with all new skins, especially ones in a higher price range, Cosmic Huntress Nidalee rivals the Challenger Nidalee skin with the work that has gone into its design. This skin brings an update to all of Nidalee’s abilities’ particle effects, animations, and sounds.
Another field that these two skins can be compared in is the elevation of Nidalee from hunting in the jungles of Shurima to a new height. The Challenger Nidalee skin elevates her to a Queen, but the Cosmic Huntress one puts her beside beings such as Bard and Soraka, cosmic entities in their own right. If the hunters of Runeterra had a patron, that would be Cosmic Huntress Nidalee.
Who is Nidalee, where has she come from, and what is her connection to Rengar’s Kiilash tribe? All of these questions, and more, are explored by the Headhunter Nidalee skin. Released in 2130, on March 20, this skin moves Nidalee away from her life in the jungle and puts her shapeshifting abilities, and deadly javelin toss, to use hunting what needs to be hunted down.
As expected of a skin priced at 975 RP, it brings changes that encompass all of her design, but cannot compare to those of the skins in the 1350 RP range. However, her cougar form is what makes this skin worthy of our list. Nidalee’s ultimate gives makes her take on the form of the Alien in direct opposition of Regnar’s Predator, the same way Kha’Zix is intended.
Headhunter Nidalee tells us a story of what would happen if she was not abandoned in a jungle and raised by cougars, but rather, the story of her life with professional hunters training her from birth to use her capabilities, with the hunters in question being the Kiilash, implicitly.
As the second champion to be released after League of Legends’ official launch, just after Udyr, Nidalee was a champion that continued the trend of having an ultimate ability that strays from the norm. However, her skins, have always stayed on point, and have explored every facet of her design. From her rule of the jungle with the Challenger skin, her femininity with the Warring Kingdoms skin line, all the way to her legendary, almost divine, prowess as a hunter with the Cosmic Huntress skin, as well as her alternate destiny with the Headhunter one. All in all, Nidalee is a champion whose skins showcase as much as they hide, just the way a true hunter does.
One of Nidalee’s closest friends, with a bond that came of their shared ability to shapeshift, is Neeko. After they separated, Neeko has had her own adventures, which were immortalized with her skins, and we have made a list of the best Neeko skins for you to check out.
