How to Get Goat Horns and Where To Find Them in Minecraft?

The difficulty of locating goat horns in Minecraft depends on the world seed you're playing on.

There are 8 different goat horn variants you can get, 4 of which are dropped by standard Minecraft goats, and the rest are dropped by screaming goats. There are 2 ways you can obtain goat horns in Minecraft:

  • Finding them in chests at pillager outposts
  • Making a goat ram in a solid block

Lots of players think that killing a goat will give them a horn, but that's not the case, especially if we are talking about a screaming goat. The hard part of finding and getting your hands on a goat horn lies in finding pillager outposts or regular goats.

How to Find Goat Horns in Pillager Outposts

A goat horn has a 100% chance of appearing in a pillager outpost. It will appear in the chest at the top of the outpost, and you can only get 1 of the 4 variants of a goat horn that the normal goat drops.

Finding pillager outposts is pretty rare as well, and you will usually get up to two horns in the best case scenario. In fact, they're rarer than locating a village, not even talking about baby goats or even screaming goats.

They mostly spawn in biomes like plains, meadows, snowy plains, desserts, savannas, and taigas, but are not limited to them. You can also easily locate them by using the best pillager outpost Minecraft seeds!

Although everything depends on the seed, players have reported they've found a pillager outpost traveling a couple of thousand blocks on average.

However, if you're lucky, you can even find pillager outposts or even woodland mansions by traveling a couple of hundred blocks around your world!

How to Get Goat Horns by Making Goats Ram

If a Minecraft goat rams into a solid block around them, it will drop a goat horn. The sound of the goat horn depends on whether a screaming or a normal one rams into a wall. Goats are pretty easy to locate since they spawn in mountain biomes such as snowy slopes, jagged peaks, and frozen peaks.

To make a goat ram into a solid block, you'll want to stand still for around 30-300 seconds near wood logs, stone, or even packed ice. Somewhere in that time frame, the goat will ram into you, by which point you'll want to quickly move away so the goat can hit the solid object you're standing in front of. Once it rams into the solid block, it will drop a goat horn!

One thing you should remember though for a goat to drop a horn, it must ram into a naturally generated solid block.

This means that if a horn rams into wood blocks or stone that you've placed, chances are it won't drop a goat horn. That's right - in this case, getting even one goat horn is nearly impossible.

So now what's left for you to do is to find the biomes in which goats spawn, make them ram into a wall, and get yourself that goat horn!
