[Solved] How to Fix An Error Occurred Please Try Again In Roblox

One of the most common error messages that Roblox players get is "Sorry, an unexpected error occurred. Please try again later". We understand that having this happen to you might be incredibly frustrating but, fortunately, the more common a problem is, the more solutions people come up with, something that applies to every unknown error, may it be for Roblox or some other game.

The first thing to do, however, is to ensure that this really is the error message you're getting, as every Roblox error message demands a different solution. For example, there's the maximum friends error, and the game pass loading error, both of which have different solutions.

Method 1: Ensure Roblox Web Servers Aren't Down

Before messing with your settings and internet connection, the first thing you should do is make sure there isn't a server outage causing the server error message to appear. To make sure that isn't the case with you, go to the official Roblox website status page, and check the server status.

If it does turn out that there is a server outage then the site will also show you the current standing, if the Roblox team has identified the issue, if it's being worked on, or if it has been resolved. For a more in-depth explanation of what to do when there's a server outage, or if you aren't able to confirm an outage is taking place, check our article on how to fix server outage in Roblox.

Method 2: Check your Internet Connection

The most common reason for this error message popping up for Roblox players is that the Roblox player's internet connection is slow. More often than not, attempting to log into Roblox using a public internet connection will make this error message show itself. In addition, a poor internet connection can also be the root cause for other unexpected client behavior such as not being able to buy Robux or when every attempt to retrieve game passes fails.

If the reason you're getting this problem is that you're trying to connect using a faulty internet connection, or a poor internet connection, then you can try to do one of two things.

  • The first thing is to do as the error message recommends, and wait 3-6 minutes. Public wireless connections can, at times, get overused by too many users at once, resulting in them slowing down immensely. Waiting a couple of minutes just might do the trick.

  • The second and easily more appealing method is to just use a private and wired internet connection. This is because even if you do manage to connect to the servers, chances are you'll experience heavy lag because of the overused and slow public internet connection.

Method 3: Ensure the Problem Isn’t Your Browser

chrome home page

Oftentimes this specific error code pops up because of something having to do with the browser you're using. To check if this is the case, attempt to log in using a different, temporary browser. If you're able to log in without any problem, then you'll have to uninstall and then reinstall the browser you normally use.

Additionally, clearing the browser's cache might make this Roblox error go away as well. To do so on the Google Chrome browser specifically,

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.

  2. At the top right, click More.

  3. Click More tools.

  4. Clear browsing data.

  5. Select All time.

  6. Next to "Cached images and files," check the box.

  7. Click Clear data

cache history

Again, this is only for the Google Chrome browser, but other browsers such as Mozilla Firefox should have a similar way of doing this.

Method 4: Disable any Antivirus software

While every antivirus software is there to ensure our devices are as safe as possible, many players have reported that as soon as they disabled it, they were able to play games like Roblox without any problems. This is also a key fix for the common avatar page error.

To ensure this isn't the case with you, disable any antivirus software you might have activated. Don't worry about the security risks, as we'll be activating it, or installing a different one as soon as we confirm our suspicion.

After deactivating it, restart your computer and attempt to log in to Roblox again. If you're able to do so without any problems, then you've found the root cause. In this case, we recommend you install a different antivirus.

Additionally, it has been reported that the windows firewall also keeps many players from enjoying Roblox to the fullest. However, this method only affects the executable apps that are used to play Roblox games.

Method 5: Reinstall The Roblox App

If you're getting this error on mobile devices, then it might be worth it if you uninstall Roblox and then reinstall it. Unfortunately, this method doesn't work for players that play this game in the browser version.

To uninstall Roblox on an android device, simply go to settings, then application manager, look for the Roblox application, and then click on uninstall. Similarly, for iOS devices click and hold the Roblox app icon, tap on remove, and then on delete app.

roblox application

With the application removed, go to either the Google Play Store or App Store to download Roblox again. Search up Roblox in the search bar and tap on install. Wait for the application to download and install then boot the game up and hopefully you'll be able to play without any additional problems.

Method 6: Change Your Roblox Password

If nothing thus far has worked, then changing the password you use to log in to Roblox might just do the job. To do so

  1. In the login screen, click on 'forgot username or password'

  2. In the next screen, click the password option, and then select how you would like to confirm it's you, with the options being either via mobile number or email (We recommend you have the link sent to your email).

  3. Click on the link sent to your email and then enter your new password, ensuring it's safe and secure, and you write it down somewhere as people tend to forget they've even changed their password.

Additionally, if you're able to log in without any issues then you could simply go to the 'my settings' menu, and then press on 'change password' in the account information tab. Not only is this much easier, but you don’t have to waste by going to your email and clicking on any link.

And that's all there is to it. Log in using your new password and hopefully you won't have to see this specific Roblox error ever again.
