Once you've changed the Steam screenshots folder, you'll find the screenshots you'll do from this point on in the folder you chose. But for the previous screenshots you've done even while playing DLCs, you can find their physical location within their folder path.

How to Find Steam Screenshot Folder Path For Any PC

If you've already changed the screenshots folder, then head to that one. But if you haven't, there's a different folder path where you can locate your Steam screenshots. This screenshots folder is in the location where you've installed Steam.

One thing worth mentioning here is that the folder path is different for everyone, and it depends on a random number we'll see below. If you installed Steam on the default location, here are the folder paths for the Steam screenshots folder for Windows, Mac, and Linux PCs:

  • Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\
  • Linux: ~/.local/share/Steam/userdata/
  • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/

Within the "userdata" folder there are other folders represented by number names. You'll want to play around with those until you find a folder that contains a file called "screenshots.vdf".

In that one, open up the folder called "remote". It should have folders with random numbers, but within those are located your Steam screenshots categorized by games.

And that's everything you need to know on locating your Steam screenshots that you took with F12. Do keep in mind that if you delete your Steam account, online uploaded screenshots will get deleted!
