Best Sentinel combos, strings and tips in Brawlhalla

Sentinel The Hammer Of Justice is a hammer and katars wielding master

Sentinel stats

1

Sentinel is a more of a all rounded legend when it comes to stats. But however he does have a huge focus on defense, this however does come at a cost for his dexterity, which is rather crucial for his trusty katars.

So, the stance that we are going to be using is logically, dexterity, because it lowers the previously mentioned strong focus on defense.

Basics of Brawlhalla combos

There are two types of attacks: light and signature

Light attacks are used for approaching an enemy.

2

Signature attacks are used for finishing an opponent.

3

Every legend has the same light attacks (if they have the same weapon), but signatures are different for every legend. Signatures are also referred to as sigs.

Sentinel Best Combos, Strings and Signature Moves

Sentinel’s kit consists of katars and the hammer. Both hammer and katars are forgivable and easy to pick-up weapons.

Sentinel’s hammer signature moves and special tactics

Hammer > nSig

Very useful and non complex signature. Does cover a decent amount of area and not so bad in range, but does kill a bit later than the other signatures. Decently fast. Good for edge-guarding and relatively low dodge window strings. Use it for edge-guarding or pair it with a slide. Finishes opponents at ~170%.

Hammer > sSig

Sentinel’s hammer side-signature is a pretty run of the mill signature. Covers a great amount of area and has decent range. Also relatively fast and somewhat unpredictable. One downside however, is that it doesn’t hit close-up opponents. Other than that it is a great move and you can use it on stage for some strings, pair it with a slide etc.. Finishes opponents at ~150%.

Hammer > dSig

Also a simple signature. Has similar traits and upsides as the side-signature, whilst it also hits close up opponents which is great. It also is a little bit more unpredictable and “advantageous” considering that Sentinel backs up a bit before he charges his hammer. You can also use this move for strings, edge-guarding etc.. Finishes opponents at ~150%.

Best Sentinel hammer combos and strings

dLight > sLight

The easiest combo in hammer’s kit. While it is simple it still racks up good damage and can lead into other strings, for example, you can use the cD nLight after, which can then lead into another sLight and then into some other moves. Possible up to 80%

dLight > sAir

A great true kill confirm, but a hard one to land. You can use it after 80% when the sLight doesn’t land anymore to rack up more damage. The only downside to this combo is that it is relatively hard to hit and has a dodge window of 1. If you however practice it or master it you will be able to hit it true, but don’t worry because even with a bit higher dodge window you will be able to hit it in a real match at higher percentages. Possible up to 40-400% but only true up to ~140%.

sAir > nLight

This is a string. It is a good option however after mid-air hit. Even if you don’t hit it true, you can still go for the nLight. The nLight is faster than the cD sLight only up to about 20-30%, after those percentages you will have to opt out for the cD sLight, which also has a bonus of being able to read out your opponents neutral dodge!

dLight > nSig

Great string to rack up damage, however sadly, it isn’t true. It has a dodge window of 4, but it is decent in some scenarios. For example, you can use it when your opponent wasted their dodge, and it is also good whilst edge-guarding.

nLight > cD > sLight

Great combo that racks up damage. You can also bait out a side dodge with it. Possible up to 70%.

Sentinel’s katar signature moves and special tactics

Katars > sSig

Also a pretty simple signature. Decent area coverage and great range. Does it’s job and it sure does it well. Also a pretty unpredictable signature and is great in strings. Make sure you pair it with a slide! Finishes opponents at ~150%

Katars > nSig

Pretty superb signature. Especially performs well in complex, and somewhat simpler katar signature’s considering it can also be used in a zero-to-death. Great range and area coverage. Make sure you use it in your games, considering it also has great kill potential! Finishes opponents at ~140%.

Katars > dSig

Sentinel shocks and bolts the ground with his electro powered katar, which then surrounds him and his foes. Has good range and area coverage and is decently fast and unpredictable. Great for edge-guarding or paring with a slide. Every hitpoint on the move gives out the same knockback, so you do not need to worry about that, but the move does lack kill power nonetheless. Finishes opponents at ~180%.

Best Sentinel katars combos and strings

Katars are the type of weapon that require you to read where your opponent is going, and in return the reward will be extraordinary. These are just some of the combos you can try with them, but keep in mind that in real games you should mix them up to whatever the situation requires. Always have at least 5 dexterity stat with katars.

sLight > nLight

The staple of katar combos. Very easy to do, this is the first one you should learn. The reason this is so good is because it can be used almost all of the time, really good for making a string out of it and throw the word consistent while you are at it. You can add sAir into this, nAir, dLight etc. Can work at later percentages if dash added after the sLight.

sLight > dLight

Also a very good and reliable combo. This one is a bit harder, but still easy. The reason is you have to add a dash after the sLight. After you learn that, it's simple. Also a good string starter. Works at later percentages the same

nAir > dLight

After the nAir buff, this is by far the best katar combo. Its reliable, easy and so much more. It can be done at later percentages too. Good string starter and does so much damage. There are so many angles you can take this as well, depending on where the nAir hits. One variation of this is nAir > nLight instead of the dLight. Try it out for yourself.

nAir > sLight

For this combo you need 5 dexterity stat. You need 5 dexterity for this combo. This is a better combo starter than the nAir > dLight version. Works to ~50% after you have to input a dash and it is no longer true. Very consistent combo.

nAir > sLight > dLight

This is a true combo. It racks up great damage and is a must

considering it is true. The only downfall is that it is only possible at early percentages. Possible up to 50%

sLight > dLight > nLight > nAir > sAir

This is one of the more complex strings but it does deal high damage. The reason this string is great is because the first two hits are true, then the third hit, nLight can read your opponents neutral dodge. After you land the nLight you just follow it up with the nAir and a sAir. After 80% the nAir does not connect but you can do the previous attacks at all percentages because of it’s fixed knockback.

sLight > nLight > nAir

Good and very easy string to do in-game. Racks up damage. Can work at later percentages if dash added after sLight.
