  1. Press [F11] once.
  2. Press [Alt] and [Enter] at the same time.

Solution 2: Change Diablo 3’s video settings to Fullscreen

This is a simple solution available to players on Windows PC or Mac OS. Simply change your screen display settings to Fullscreen, and your game should be running in, well, full screen mode.

To play the game in fullscreen, change the following video setting:

  1. Run Diablo 3.
  2. Click on [Options].
  3. Navigate to [Video], on the right side of the menu, you should see [Display] settings.
  4. Select [Fullscreen] to play in full screen mode, or [Windowed (Fullscreen)] if you wish to play in Borderless Windowed mode.

As for your [Resolution] settings, make sure it’s accurately set to your PC’s settings. There are ways to check your recommended settings on Windows and Mac OS, we cover it briefly below if you don’t know.

Additional Tip: How to check Your Recommended Resolution Settings

Setting the right resolution will reduce blurriness, and deal with bugs such as the game only appearing partially fullscreen. I.e Occupying only a small part of your monitor.

If you don’t know how to find the native resolution of your device, use this method.

5

Find Your Windows PC Native Resolution:

  1. Right click an empty space on your desktop and select [Display settings].
  2. Scroll down and find [Display resolution].
  3. Find a display resolution that says (Recommended).
  4. Use the same resolution for Diablo 3.

6

Find Your Mac OS Native Resolution:

  1. Click on the Apple icon on the top left of your screen.
  2. Select [About this Mac].
  3. Now select [Display].
  4. Find your current display settings under [Built-in Display].
  5. Select the same resolution for Diablo 3.

Solution 3: Run Diablo 3 in Compatibility Mode (Windows Only)

IF you can finally go full screen, but the game is now crashing every time you do so; going compatibility mode with Windows 8 should fix it. Unfortunately this is not an available troubleshoot for Mac users.

7

To do this you must locate Diablo 3’s program file and edit the properties.

  1. Open Battle.Net.
  2. Navigate to Diablo 3.
  3. Next to the Play button, select the [Gear Icon] then choose [Show in explorer].
  4. Now right click Diablo 3’s original game file and choose properties.
  5. Tick the compatibility mode option and select [OK].

This should fix the bug which crashes Diablo 3 when you launch or play it in full screen mode.

Solution 4: Update NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Radeon Software and Turn Off GPU Scaling (Windows Only)

This option only exists for Windows users. Turning off GPU Scaling will fix stuttering, flickering, or partial full screen issues with Diablo 3.
