Hitbox

The Octane hitbox is considered one of the best hitboxes in Rocket League, and usually, the best Rocket League cars are equipped with it. Both Octane and Fennec have it, and due to both cars having the same hitbox, we call it a "tie" in this matter.

Rocket League Octane Hitbox

The fact that both Octane and Fennec have the same hitbox basically means that both of these Rocket League cars are as good in matters such as ball control, and that's a big deal. Octane hitbox is just perfect for freestyling, and this is what professional players often go for when picking these two cars; but again, both cars are as good.

Appearance

While comparing cars, appearance is also something we all consider and it is a huge part of the game.  Well, there’s a reason why the Rocket League item shop is filled with cosmetic items that players want to own and use on their cars. Even though both cars have the same hitbox, their design is totally different.

Rocket League Octane Appearance

Honestly, I think that Octane lacks in the appearance category compared to other cars. It has the appearance of an RC car, which is nothing out of the ordinary.

Fennec Car Appareance

On the other hand, Fennec is a better car when it comes to looks. The compact hatchback design of the car is amazing, as it resembles a real car, unlike the Octane. Some of the best car designs in Rocket League are of the Fennec, as Rocket League players love designing this car because of its resemblance to a real-life hatchback.

Personally, I consider Fennec to be the best car in Rocket League in terms of design, and others are not even close. Would love to have the same car in real life, honestly.

Cost

One of the major advantages of Octane is that it is completely free to obtain. This has been the case since the launch of Rocket League and has stayed the same ever since.

Octane Cost

The Octane is hands down one of the most popular cars in Rocket League and players tend to spend a lot of credits on making the car attractive but not purchasing the car body itself.

Ever since its release in July 2019 in Rocket League, there have been many ways to get Fennec. It is far from free and will cost you around 400–500 Rocket League credits depending on the platform you play Rocket League on. If it sounds like a lot, be sure to check out our article on how to get Rocket League Credits for free, because it is possible nowadays.

Metagame

Any great Rocket League player will admit that Octane dominates the pro player community because of its versatile nature. Octane feels like the best car in Rocket League to practice with and learn new skills, which are what make players stand out in Rocket League.

The Fennec is also a popular choice in competitive Rocket League, and it is used by a lot of pro players; at the end of the day, if Octane hitbox fits perfectly for versatile games, it has to be the case for Fennec as well. It is also a popular choice among other freestylers because of how easy it is to use in the air. The Fennec dominated ariel plays which is a big part of competitive Rocket League.
