ttttttttttttttWhen one of the best DPS carries in NA Overwatch decided to switch to Valorant, it got a lot of fans excited. Seeing the success that Sinatraa had was the new standard for pro’s switching games. Even though Derrek didn’t quite manage to reach that level in his one year stint with RISE Esports, he managed to land another roster spot.

He joined Asuna and took over Hiko as the main Initiator for the 100 Thieves Valorant team in April 2022. After they finished tied for fifth in the Stage 2 NA Challengers circuit, Derrek has focused on streaming in his preparation for LCQ.

When looking at the table below, we can see the mouse settings for Derrek from 100 Thieves. Nothing seems to be out of the ordinary with a mouse sensitivity of 0,375 on 800 DPI which equals out to around 300 EDPI. His Scoped sensitivity is also set to 1, which means his mouse settings dont change when he is using ADS. In our best mouse settings article we explained how EDPI is the most important mouse setting, so you should definitely check it out.

Like many professional players coming from Overwatch , Derrek prefers a crosshair that utilizes outlines and no movement or firing error. Coming from such an explosive genre, the feeling of having a stable, consistent and visible crosshair must be nice. In our best crosshair colors article we talked about how effective the Green color is, and Derrek seems to be agreeing with us.

He has outer lines and center dot disabled, while his inner lines have values of 1213. This refers to his inner line opacity of 1, inner line length of 2, inner line thickness of 1 and inner lines offset of 3.

Just one glance at Derrek's Twitch stream is all you need to notice his movement capabilities. OW players are much more skilled at vertical aiming and movement, and all of that is tied to their key bindings. In the table below we can see that Derrek's keybinds are very similar to other Valorant pro settings, except for his ability usage. He has set the Use/ Equip ability 1 command to the C Key, Use/ Equip ability 2 to the Q key and Use/ Equip ability 3 to the E key. Most importantly, unlike the Valorant settings of many other professional players, Derrek uses his mouse buttons, in this case for casting his ultimate ability. He has Mouse Button 4 bound for it.

Looking at Derrek's minimap valorant settings we can see that he likes to use a fixed map, That means that it doesnt rotate and its based on his side, with it being centered on his character. This might offer more consistency and since he is a former Overwatch pro, we are sure he has no problem handling his surroundings when being overwhelmed with utility. But for the rest of the Valorant players that can lose themselves when hit with an Omen Paranoia or flashed while smokes are coming down, try to have this setting turned on.

In our best minimap settings article we talked about how impactful having the Keep Player Centered setting turned On can be. The minimap size settings are set to 1,1 and he has Mimimap Zoom of 0,9.

Derrek is one of the few Valorant pros that actually still plays with the Nvidia 1080 TI graphic card, and is doing it on the native resolution which is 1920x1080. With a 16:0 Aspect ratio that perfectly fits that resolution, we can also notice the rest of his video settings. He has everything set to Low, with just the Improve Quality setting turned On. We did an article covering the best graphic settings and how you can fine-tune your Valorant game for a more enjoyable experience.
