To make Valorant a safe place, especially for younger audiences, Riot Games has a built-in language filter that automatically censors bad words.
However, if you want to turn off this language filter and uncensor bad words, you can do it through the Valorant settings. Here's a quick step by step guide on how to turn off the language filter in Valorant!
How To Uncensor Bad Words In Valorant
Turning off the profanity filter lets you see bad words that players type in the Valorant chat. The process to uncensor Valorant chat is super easy. Just follow the steps below:
Launch Valorant and go to Settings
In the Settings menu, head over to Controls
Under Controls, click on Communication
Scroll down until you see the Text Chat section
Look for the option Explicit Language Filter
Set Explicit Language Filter to Off
And that’s pretty much it! No words, including profanity, will be automatically censored, so you can see exactly what everyone is typing.
How To Set Up Your Own Muted Words List
If you want to bypass Riot’s language chat filter but mute some specific words, you use a Valorant chat command to set up your own list of words you want to censor. You can add as many words as you’d like.
Follow the previous steps and go to the Text Chat settings
Look for the Muted Words List option, which is under the Explicit Language Filter option
Now, you can type in words, phrases, or Valorant abbreviations you want to mute
After typing in a word, hit Enter, and Valorant will mute that word or phrase for you
You can always remove words by pressing the X buttonnext to them
Remember that you can report Valorant players to Riot Games for communication abuse if they are bullying you or other players through the Valorant chat.
