[Solved] How to Fix Lag in Tower of Fantasy PC/Mobile

We all know the feeling of lag while playing an online game. In the context of an MMO, this can really hinder your ability to explore PVE group content, PVP, or even do simple dailies.

The first thing you'll need to do is identify whether this is a FPS or Ping problem. The easiest way is by showing your FPS counter using Tower of Fantasy's in-game settings.

Let's get down to it. Here are 3 ways you can fix lag in TOF, shared open world Anime MMO.

Solution 1: Close apps running in the background to reduce lag in Tower of Fantasy

If your device is running several apps as you play TOF, it could result in increased lag. You can close all background apps before playing on PC or mobile to improve your game performance.

How to close background apps on PC:

  1. Press [Ctrl] [Shift] [Esc] at the same time to open Task Manager.
  2. Select and close any apps that aren't TOF related.

How to close background apps on Mobile:

The steps to close all background apps depends on your mobile device's model and brand. Because each brand uses a different UX interface, there is no universal solution. We recommend checking your phone brand's official website for updated instructions.

Here are a few guides for the most popular phones:

Solution 2: Change graphic settings from Tower of Fantasy's In-Game Settings

Whether you're playing Tower of Fantasy on PC or mobile, if your device runs on an older intel core or Operating System (OS), the game is going to lag. The solution to this is to modify TOF's graphics with in-game Display settings, which offers a variety of options to reduce the game's visual effects quality.

We can take advantage of these settings and get a higher FPS.

Follow these steps to change your graphics settings:

  1. Tap on the top right corner of your screen, or simply just press [Esc] on PC.
  2. Select [Settings] from the corner menu, indicated by a red icon.
  3. Navigate to the [Display] tab to change graphics settings.
  4. Tap on [Advanced Settings] if available.
  5. For the best FPS performance, set your graphics according to the table.

Note that your game's graphical quality will drop as a result of these settings, but the tradeoff is a much better frame rate, which is essential in group content and PVP.

You can toggle some settings here and there, such as Post Production or Anti-Aliasing, to get your favorite blend of FPS performance and graphics quality.

If you're not a fan of how the game looks in the new settings, you can add a color filter with Style Settings, which is located at the top of the [Display] settings page. This may help enhance the game's visuals at these low specs settings.

Solution 3: Get Lower Ping by changing the DNS settings of your devices connected

Another simple way to reduce lag would be to change your internet DNS settings. By doing so, you may experience lower latency in games, reduced input lag, steadier connection speed, and even bypass content restrictions in your country. Sounds neat, right?

The two main public DNS we recommend to use are Google DNS or OpenDNS. Please refer below for how you can set the DNS for your PC or mobile devices.
