First person shooter games like Apex Legends, Valorant, and Genshin Impact have long had custom crosshairs. Now Fortnite does too! If you’re one of these console players: Xbox One, Xbox Series X, or Nintendo Switch, or any other console, now Fortnite players can enjoy a custom Fortnite crosshair. Let’s jump into how to get a custom crosshair in Fortnite, to get you an awesome crosshair that matches the Custom Made By Fans Skins.
How To Get a Custom Crosshair in Fortnite
Before we get into how to, we need to let you know some bad news. Unfortunately, you can only use a custom crosshair in Fortnite Creative mode using this method. Here is the step by step guide to getting a custom crosshair in Fortnite Battle Royale:
- Launch Fortnite Creative and hop into your 1v1 map.
- Open the Fortnite Creative Menu Game Settings and open the My Island tab.
- Select Devices and from the list of devices select HUD Messaging Device.
- Place the device and make it bigger, so it’s easier to work with.
- Open the device and click over to the second tab, in the message tab you can select your crosshair.
Pretty much, whatever you put in the message field will be your crosshair in the Fortnite Creative 1v1 world.
Unfortunately, Epic Games doesn’t have the crosshair customization options as other games which have options like crosshair color, center dot thickness, fade crosshair, inner line thickness, static crosshair, display location, and duplicate crosshairs. With that amount of options you can imagine the possible variety in crosshairs!
However, you can still have lots of fun finding a great crosshair! Players have enjoyed using symbols like periods for a dot, a star symbol, money symbol, or an “x”.
Custom Crosshair Using Third Party Software
There are third party softwares that allow you to use a custom crosshair in any Fortnite game mode, by utilizing crosshair overlays. However, these methods' crosshair settings can get you flagged by Fortnite’s anti-cheat, and could result in an issue like a ban, which is why the Best Fortnite Pro Players don’t use custom crosshairs.
If you’re more of a risk taker than we are, a popular custom crosshair application is Custom Desktop Logo. However, we need to urge you to be careful with any third party applications on your PC!
