Best Nasus Build Guide | Runes | Spells | Items in League of Legends

Nasus is a Top laner in League of Legends that has to adapt his playstyle in the early game according to the enemy. The thing about Nasus is that he is a champion who is basically a tank that can hit harder than a truck. He can kill enemy carries if he has enough items and stacks on his "Siphoning Strike", without further ado, let's go over Nasus' best build in League of Legends.

Best Nasus Build

Surprisingly enough, Nasus is a champion that barely needs one item these days to take a big chunk from the HP bar of an enemy during team fights. This is because of how his "Siphoning Strike" works, and the stacks he accumulates, after you have the first item, the rest consists of several tank items in this patch 12.16.

1

Best Nasus Runes

Nasus best rune set can be created with the "Precision" and "Resolve" trees. In the precision tree choose "Fleet Footwork" as the keystone, then, continue with "Triumph", "Legend: Tenacity", and "Last Stand" for the rune choices. These will keep you alive in the early game during the laning phase when your attack speed isn't that great.

Last Stand

From the "Resolve" tree, choose "Second Wind" and "Unflinching" to increase your chances to survive, as you accumulate stacks of "Siphoning Strike".

Best Nasus Rune Shards

The first option for the shards of runes will be Cool Down Reduction so you can use your "Siphoning Strike" faster.

Second and Third sockets are for "+6 Armor" so you can take less damage and heal with your "Soul Eater" better.

Best Nasus Spells

Nasus best spells are "Ghost" and "Teleport", the first one is excellent to gain movement speed and chase enemies to grant the killer blow with your "Siphoning Strike", or run for your life under the turret.

Teleport

"Teleport" is one of the summoner spells almost all top laners go with, and Nasus works well with it so he prevents his turret from getting wrecked and losing lane. It is also useful to join team fights in mid and late game.

2

Best Nasus Abilities Order

Nasus' best skill order is rather simple, all you have to do is focus on your "Siphoning Strike" since it will be your main source of damage in League of Legends during the early game regardless of the Nasus build you use. The next one in the skill order is "Wither", and lastly "Spirit Fire".

3

"Spirit Fire" is an excellent skill to keep enemies at bay, and it doesn't force Nasus to get too close to an enemy to do something, but still, "Spirit Fire" should be your last ability to level up in the skill order. And as always, you want to invest points in your ultimate, "Fury of the Sands" as soon as you have the opportunity.

Best Nasus Items

With this Nasus build you can do all sorts of things, from a split push to starting a team fight after you use your "Spirit Fire", these items will keep you alive from the physical damage of nearby enemies from the early game to the late game in this patch 12.16, plus, several of the items available in Wild Rift, work excellent with him as well.

Best Starter Nasus Items

His starter items are quite simple, "Doran's Shield" gives you some needed armor since you're vulnerable as you stack your "Q". The "Health Potion" and "Stealth Ward" are no-brainers in this stage of the game.

Best Mid Game Nasus Items

Once you reach this stage, the "Divine Sunderer" is all you need to deal damage, it's also the choice among the available Mythic Items. This item is also available in Wild Rift, which is a must-have for him as well, along with the "Trinity Force".

Third Item

Ionian Boots of Lucidity

Frozen Heart

The "Frozen Heart" and "Ionian Boots of Lucidity" are core items for him to resist damage and use his abilities as soon as possible.

4

Best Final Late Game Nasus Items

Once you reach the late game get your hands on the "Spirit Visage", which is also available and recommended for him in Wild Rift. Moreover, all of these items make him almost invincible while "Fury of the Sands" lasts.

Thornmail

Gargoyle Stoneplate

Lastly, "Thornmail", and "Gargoyle Stoneplate" are what you need to resist damage as you land each devastating blow after another thanks to "Divine Sunderer", and even heal a bit with "Soul Eater". In case the situation demands it, you can replace any of the last defensive items for "Dead Man's Plate"

Best Champions to pair Nasus with

Mordekaiser and Nocturne are Nasus best buddies when it comes to a game since their abilities synergize very well.

Mordekaiser

Nocturne

54.0%

Xin Zhao

53.%

Xin Zhao is also quite good with Nasus thanks to his crowd control and the way he can reach enemies that are running away.

Strongest Champions against Nasus

Sadly, Nasus can't put up against these champions, Malphite does give him a lot of trouble, Teemo is the devil himself with his ranged attacks, and Irelia attacks way too fast besides having the means to escape easily, hence his low win rate.

Champion

Irelia

35.7%

Weakest Champions against Nasus

But on the other hand, Tryndamere, Volibear, and Gnar are no match to him when it comes to a 1 vs 1, let alone when he uses "Fury of the Sands".

Champion

Win Rate %

Tryndamere

72.2%

Volibear

68.8%

Gnar

68.4%

Nasus is a champion whose win rate isn't the highest currently, but that doesn't mean he's not worth playing with or even trying out for those new League of Legends players out there. He has the means to heal himself and runes that actually fit him well, so it’s not so bad after all.
