Yumiko stats

1

Yumiko is a high dexterity and high speed legend, which makes her a bit of a less forgiving legend because of her rather low defense and strength stats. The stance that we are going to be using is strength, because if we pick defense, the strength stat is lowered, which we are already short on.

Basics of Brawlhalla combos

There are two types of attacks: light and signature

2

Light attacks are used for approaching an enemy.

3

Signature attacks are used for finishing an opponent.

Every legend has the same light attacks (if they have the same weapon), but signatures are different for every legend. Signatures are also referred to as sigs.

Yumiko Best Combos, Strings and Signature Moves

Yumiko weapon kit includes bow and hammer. Both pretty simple weapons and paired with her unique and somewhat “middle” tough signatures still make her a great legend.

Yumiko’s bow signature moves and special tactics

Bow > sSig

Superb signature! Great range and area coverage, but does lack in the kill department however.. The move on startup gives you invincibility frames, as well for the full duration of the move, meaning that opponents can’t hit you no matter if they started their attack before you! You can pair it with a slide, use it offstage for recovering (abuse the invincibility)! Finishes opponents at ~170.

Bow > nSig

Basically the same as the side-signature, except that it hits diagonally upwards, meaning that the invincibility does come a bit more situational. The move has the same usage as the sSig. Doesn’t hit grounded opponents, finishes them at ~160%

Bow > dSig

This is a combo signature. Meaning it doesn’t kill and it’s main purpose is zoning and leading into other strings. Very unique and cool signature.

Best Yumiko bow combos and strings

sLight > dLight

The best combo starter. Not possible at later percentages, you can mix it up with nAir, nLight, sAir, etc.

dLight > nLight

The most basic bow combo. Racks up damage and leads into some strings. Possible at any percent.

dLight > nAir

Same as the nLight version, except you use this one to kill an enemy if you are in the middle of the stage. Possible at any percent.

dLight > sAir

Same as the nAir version, except you use this one to kill an enemy if you are on the edge of the stage. Possible at any percent. Good combo starter

sLight > dLight > nLight

The most basic “string” in the bow's arsenal. Between the sLight and dLight is a 1 frame dodge window, so it is almost a true combo. Pretty good kill confirm and also a safer string if you are unsure about going for the side-air, or not near a ledge to get the side-air kill. Possible up to 220% but after 190% has a bigger dodge window. It kills pretty early. Pretty good combo and can lead into gPs, dAirs etc.

dLight > Rec

Pretty good combo, good for all stages throughout the game. This is especially good for killing an opponent, because of the recovery. Another reason is, this is a true combo they cannot react to.

sLight > dLight > sAir > gP

The extended version of the most basic string. It deals huge damage and can give you a good position if you hit it. You can also use the dAir instead of the ground pound, depending on where your opponent tends to go after the sAir. The gP/dAir is used for edgeguarding at the end. Really useful string, be sure to practice it as sometimes it's hard to hit it right. It’s worth it though.

dSig > Rec

A true combo that abuses Yumiko’s dSig. It also racks up damage, make sure you abuse it! As soon as Yumiko touches the ground during the dSig animation, make sure you jump and THEN input the recovery.

Yumiko’s hammer signature moves and special tactics

Hammer > sSig

The side signature has great area coverage and it is a relatively fast signature. One con however is that the move doesn’t hit close up opponents. If Yumiko would’ve been able to hit opponents during the full duration of the move, it would’ve been busted. However it is still a great move and it does it’s job, you can use it on edge if your enemy is coming up low, and it can somewhat pair with strings. Finishes opponents at ~140%.

Hammer > nSig

A very intriguing signature. Also has great area coverage, but it also has great range. Yumiko leaps into the air with her rammer, dunking any opponent that gets in her way! This makes it a great off-stage signature, and a real table-turner! However it is a predictable move so make sure you don’t spam it so that you can get that cheeky free kill near the end! It can also be used on stage for a jump predict or such, but with less kill potential. Finishes opponents at ~120%.

Hammer > dSig

This is more of a “combo” signature. That also sadly does not hit grounded opponents. The main purpose of the signature is zoning, and some cool strings. Doesn’t kill opponents because of the low knockback.

Best Yumiko hammer combos and strings

dLight > sLight

The easiest combo in hammer’s kit. While it is simple it still racks up good damage and can lead into other strings, for example, you can use the cD nLight after, which can then lead into another sLight and then into some other moves. Possible up to 80%

dLight > sAir

A great true kill confirm, but a hard one to land. You can use it after 80% when the sLight doesn’t land anymore to rack up more damage. The only downside to this combo is that it is relatively hard to hit and has a dodge window of 1. If you however practice it or master it you will be able to hit it true, but don’t worry because even with a bit higher dodge window you will be able to hit it in a real match at higher percentages. Possible up to 40-400% but only true up to ~140%.

sAir > nLight

This is also a relatively hard combo because it has a very specific hit spot. It is a good option however after mid-air hit. Even if you don’t hit it true, you can still go for the nLight. Only true up to 20% but after that, you can use cD sLight to do a follow-up string instead of the nLight.

sLight > sSig

A great sig string considering that it can read your enemy's side dodge and neutral dodge, and can be used as a kill option. Make sure you abuse it if your opponents uses the same dodge options.

dSig > nAir

A great true combo that abuses the combo dSig. It is great for racking up damage and it also has a sAir variant if your opponent gets sent into a different position where the nAir won’t hit. As soon as you press the dSig jump into the air and input the nAir. You have to do this or else it won’t land true. Same goes for the sAir variant. Great kill option depending on which part of the stage you are, your opponents won’t expect it!

nLight > cD > sLight

Great string that racks up damage. You can also bait out a side dodge with it. Possible up to 70%.
