Yasuo is B tier at the moment, and like always has a negative win rate of 48.5%. He is one of the most popular champions, and is very hard to play unless you know how. This means that his 9.6% pick rate is too high for the players that can play him well. Being banned in 19.6% of games in patch 12.15 means he is a hard champion to main.
Being good at Yasuo requires Yasuo to be set up correctly, so without further ado, we have for you the best of the Yasuo Mid build guides out there for the Riot Games MOBA, with the Yasuo runes, the Yasuo build, and Yasuo’s matchups!
Best Yasuo Build
Best Yasuo Runes
First off, we will start with the best Yasuo Mid lane rune build, which focuses on the Precision runes as a primary and the Resolve tree as a secondary!
Best Rune Path | Precision | Resolve |
Best Keystone | Lethal Tempo | |
Best Slot 1 (Rune) | Triumph | Bone Plating |
Best Slot 2 (Rune) | Legend: Alacrity | Unflinching |
Best Slot 3 (Rune) | Last Stand |
Taking Lethal Tempo as the keystone of choice on Yasuo allows him to gain up to 90% bonus Attack Speed for 6 seconds after attacking an enemy champion. This means that Yasuo can rapidly spam his auto attacks and weave in abilities to demolish enemies!
Triumph gives Yasuo a bit of extra survivability after getting a kill with 10% HP being restored - super useful in teamfights and Mid Lane where you are often against a Jungler too!
Legend: Alacrity gives Yasuo more Attack Speed, which stacks based on Legend stacks, and Last Stand increases his damage when he is lower HP!
With Resolve secondary, Yasuo gains some more tankiness, which is crucial for a losing matchup. This means that if he is into a ranged mid laner, he can survive that extra bit. Bone Plating does just that and Unflinching increases his Tenacity by 5% and Slow resist by 5%!
Best Yasuo Rune Shards
Best Rune Shards | Effect |
Offence | +10% Attack Speed |
Flex | +9 Adaptive Force (5.4 AD or 9 AP) |
Defense | +8 Magic Resist |
Attack Speed Offence is great, as it gives Yasuo more damage in the fight, allowing Yasuo to get more hits off, especially in the earlier levels where he needs attack speed!
Best Yasuo Summoner Spells
Best Spells | Icon |
Flash | |
Ignite |
|
Hecarim and Shaco are two of the few champions that don’t use Flash, but Yasuo needs it for his combos. He can Sweeping Blade, Flash, and Steel Tempest to knock an enemy up and use his ultimate ability, Last Breath all at once. Ignite allows Yasuo to have extra damage on top during the fight and negate healing!
Best Yasuo Abilities Order
This is one of the most important parts, as you want to make sure you are leveling the right abilities at the right time! This is the best Yasuo skill order:
With your skill order, the main ability you want to prioritize is Q, Steel Tempest. This is because this is Yasuo’s wave clear ability. Being on a low cooldown at higher ranks helps massively into tougher matchups.
Second, you need E, Sweeping Blade to be leveled up, as you can dash on a 0.1 second cooldown at rank five. Finally, level W, Wind Wall, as you only need to to block an ability occasionally.
You should of course have Yasuo’s Ultimate Ability, Last Breath leveled up at 6,12, and 16.
Best Yasuo Items
Yasuo wants to build some damage and sustainability items earlier on in the game, before he gets the Attack Speed to make him a killing machine!
Best Starter Yasuo Items
First Item | Second Item |
Doran’s Blade | One Health Potion |
Doran’s Blade allows Yasuo to survive with the 80 HP it has, as well as the Omnivamp ability. The Health Potion allows Yasuo to have a little extra survivability in lane.
Best Mid Game Yasuo Items
These are your core Yasuo items that you want to build towards first!
First Item | Second Item | Third Item |
Berserker’s Greaves | Immortal Shieldbow | Infinity Edge |
First you need to build Berserker’s Greaves, as they are crucial with the 35% increase in Attack Speed. Yasuo thrives off of Attack Speed and being able to auto attack faster is key.
The Mythic item Yasuo uses is Immortal Shieldbow, which gives a shield and extra Attack Damage when low health, combining nicely with Last Stand. You also get 50 AD, 20% Attack Speed, 20% Critical Strike Chance, and 7% Lifesteal!
The third core item is Infinity Edge. He gets 70 AD, plus a 20% Critical Strike Chance increase. The item also has the unique factor of Perfection - which gives 35% bonus Critical Strike Chance if Yasuo already has 60%. Yasuo’s passive gives him double Critical Strike Chance anyways so this works amazingly!
Best Final Late Game Yasuo Items
This is the final build that you want to aim toward when playing Yasuo.
First Item | Second Item | Third Item | Fourth Item | Fifth Item | Sixth Item |
Berserker’s Greaves | Immortal Shieldbow | Infinity Edge | Death’s Dance | Mortal Reminder | Guardian Angel |
The final three items are utility items, being Death’s Dance, Mortal Reminder, and Guardian Angel. Amongst the various stat increases, such as Armor, Attack Damage, Ability Haste, and Attack Speed, the items give Yasuo some more survivability.
Death’s Dance spreads out incoming damage, which means he can’t be burst as easily on the front line. Mortal Reminder gives Yasuo the Grevious Wounds debuff to inflict on enemies, meaning they heal less, and Guardian Angel allows Yasuo to die and come back with 50% HP left!

Renekton and Malzahar can both just crowd control Yasuo and prevent him from auto attacking fast enough so that he is already dead by the time the stun or suppression is over, whilst Vladimir can just avoid his abilities, and out heal his damage!

These three champions are all reliant on hitting their stun abilities, and the way they are designed, Yasuo can block them all with his W, Wind Wall. This means that their lack of CC is their downfall, so Yasuo can get ontop of them and chase them down if need be too!
Hopefully, you are now ready to climb and improve your win rate with Yasuo after this guide and Yasuo build, and send us your awesome clips of our resident swordsman slicing up League of Legends and Summoner’s Rift! We also have a guide on the best Yasuo skins too!
