Zac was a mainstay in the League of Legends Jungle a few seasons ago, but whilst he has fallen off in popularity somewhat, with only a 6.26% play rate. He has a 50.39% win rate in the jungle, which isn’t a bad win rate to have! The tankiness combined with excellent AP ratios make him a deadly ganker!

First off, we will start with the best Zac jungle rune build, which focuses on the Resolve runes as a primary and the Precision tree as a secondary!

Aftershock is the best Keystone for Zac by miles, considering it increases armor and magic resist for 2.5 seconds after immobilizing an enemy. Grasp of the Undying is no longer really viable! This is great for Zac, as he has three abilities that displace enemy champions. The extra boost in damage that scales with health works wonders with his build too!

Font of Life, Conditioning and Revitalize work well in combination, as Font of Life means that when Zac immobilizes an enemy champion, anyone damaging them gets healed. Revitalize heals Zac for an extra 5% and add 5% to any shielding! Conditioning helps Zac scale by increasing his armor and magic resistance past 12 minutes.

Precision is the best secondary in League of Legends, as he gets an increase in attack speed. This is great for clearing jungle camps, and for his Stretching Strikes ability. Triumph heals Zac when doing fatal damage, keeping him tankier in team fights, and Legend: Tenacity reduces his CC time for every Legend stack he gets. Offence is great, as it gives him a reduction on cooldown times on his abilities, meaning he can clear camps faster, and Flex and Defence mean that Zac can be tankier, whilst doing more damage!

As a jungler, you always need to take Smite and Flash as summoner spells, which are almost always taken on everyone. Some exceptions could be Ghost on Hecarim, and Ignite on Shaco however!

Best Zac Abilities Order

This is one of the most important parts, as you want to make sure you are leveling the right abilities at the right time! This is the best Zac skill order:

With your skill order, the main ability you want to prioritize is E, Elastic Slingshot. This is because it will be your best ability for ganking, your main role as Zac. Level one and two, you get W, Unstable Matter, and Q, Stretching Strikes, as they help you clear faster. You always want to get your Ultimate, Let’s Bounce! At levels 6, 11, and 18!

Best Zac Items

The items that Zac builds are mainly tank items, but have some ability power added on, such as Demonic Embrace! Items with healing buffs help too, such as Spirit Visage and Warmog’s Armor.

Hailblade means that when it is upgraded, Smite slows enemy champions, so Zac can keep on them with his CC! Refillable Potion gives Zac more survivability in the early game with Jungle clearing!

Sunfire Aegis is the best of the mythic items as it allows Zac to build Bami’s Cinder, which creates an AOE damage ring around him, making it easier to clear camps. Ionian Boots of Lucidity reduce the cooldowns on Zac’s abilities, once again making it easier to clear faster, as well as gank more!

Demonic Embrace gives Zac some well-needed tankiness, but also some Ability Power and magic damage so that he can do a significant chunk of damage when ganking! It also burns enemies!

Best Final Late Game Zac Items

This is the final build that you want to aim toward when playing Zac.

Thornmail, similar to Sunfire Aegis and Demonic Embrace, does damage to enemies naturally, whilst Spirit Visage increases healing and shielding on Zac by 25% - almost opposite things! Randuin’s Omen will slow nearby enemies with the active, but it will also increase Zac’s resistance to Attack Damage, especially from ADCs!

Best Champions to pair Zac with

Strongest Champions against Zac

If you see these champions picked on the enemy team, maybe it is time to think twice about Zac, or if it is too late, just play super safe!

Rek’Sai and Bel’Veth have one thing in common - Attack Speed. This is something tanks, Zac included, massively struggle with. If Zac gets behind against one of these, he might as well be a caster minion. We suggest getting a Thornmail as your first item, or at least a Bramble Vest, to negate the damage!

Lee Sin and Elise are both damage-dealing assassin-type Junglers, but with Zac’s tankiness, there is no way that either of them can burst him down fast enough!
