Best Orion combos, strings and tips in Brawlhalla
Discover the best combos and strings for Orion and learn how to really take advantage of his spear and lance.
Orion The Mysterious Stranger is a spear and rocket lance wielding master. His high range sigs can aid him in recovering or catching opponents off guard, but be careful they are slow and easily punishable.
Orion is an all-round legend with a good amount of focus on dexterity, defense and speed. The stance that we are using for Orion is the strength stance, because the additional strength is crucial and we already have a good amount of defense, so decreasing it isn’t a big loss.
Basics of Brawlhalla combos
There are two types of attacks: light and signature
Light attacks are used for: combo starting and approaching an enemy
Signature attacks are used for finishing an opponent.
Every legend has the same light attacks (if they have the same weapon), but signatures are different for every legend. Signatures are also referred to as sigs.
Orion Best Combos, Strings and Signature Moves
Orion has a pretty simple kit including spear and rocket lance, also containing simple sigs. With that in mind, Orion is the perfect starting legend.
Orion’s spear signature moves and special tactics
Spear > sSig
This side-sig has pretty good range and high kill potential. It launches your enemy horizontally at high speed, but it doesn’t come out relatively slow. Like all the other sigs in Orion’s kit, you shouldn't spam them because if you miss you are in a very bad position. Finishes an opponent at ~150%.
Spear > dSig
This down-sig is like a get-off me move, it comes out at medium speed and it has pretty good range considering it cover’s you fully. It launches your enemy horizontally. You can pair it with a dash to catch lacking opponents, also usable for edgeguarding. It finishes an opponent at ~160%
Spear > nSig
The neutral-sig is like a ground pound, the first hit sends opponents vertically into the second hit which then sends them downwards at high speeds. It’s a great move for edge guarding, but don’t use it too much because it’s predictable. Also do not use it with a ground cancel when you are at the ledge and are trying to get back at the stage, because it loses all your momentum and you become easily punishable. Finishes an opponent at ~130%, if hit at the ledge (this move is too weak to kill on stage).
Best Orion spear combos and strings.
sLight > dLight
This is one of the most simple spear combo-string. It can also follow up to some more complicated reads. It has a dodge-window of 2 frames or more, depending on how fast you can do a follow up dlight. Possible at 0%
dLight > sAir
This combo is used when you read your opponent's jump. It is solid for racking up damage. Possible at 0%
sAir > nLight
You can use this combo to follow up after a mid-air hit. Possible at 0%
dLight > nAir
Just like the side air version it is also viable and can lead to a read string. Possible at 0%
sLight > nSig
This is a string. You can use it if your enemy already used his dodge, or keeps neutral-dodging. Possible at 0%
nAir > gCancel nSig
This is also a string. Same as the side-light version except that you use this one if you hit your enemy mid-air. Possible at 0%

Orion’s rocket lance signature moves and special tactics
Rocket Lance > sSig
Orion’s lance side sig is a pretty good kill move, but has mid start and slow end speed, meaning that you can get easily punished if you miss it. Also very predictable, be careful not to spam it too much and use it only in the right situation. Launches an opponent horizontally and kills them at ~150% .
Rocket Lance > dSig
Orion’s lance down sig is a solid edge guarding move, but it doesn’t kill as early as the side sig. You can also use it while sliding off an edge to catch your enemy off guard. Also has solid speed. Launches an opponent diagonally upwards. Finishes an opponent at ~150%.
Rocket Lance > nSig
Orion’s lance neutral sig covers the area above him, whilst packing a punch. It’s relatively fast and it launches opponents diagonally upwards. You can also use it for edgeguarding.
Finishes an opponent at ~150%

sAir > dLight
Solid combo considering landed side air doesn’t have any other true follow-ups except the dLight. Possible up to 30%
sLight > dAir
Great true combo for racking up damage. It also leads up to some other dodge reading strings. Possible at any percent because of the side-light’s fixed knockback (the same knockback no matter what percent).
nAir > Rec
This is a string. Good for catching opponents jumps and also is a kill confirm. Possible up to ~250%.
sLight > nSig
This is also a string. It is a great kill confirm because it has the side-lights fixed knockback.
sLight > dLight
This is a true combo. It is great for racking up damage. Also has the side-lights fixed knockback.

Orion Tips and Tricks
The lance’s side air can help you get back on the stage and also mix up your recovery. Be careful when you use your recovery because if you want to get some actual height out of it you need to hold it, and in that position you are easily punishable. The spear’s down sig launches you downwards at a relatively slow speed and an easily punishable position if missed.
