Best Jiro combos, strings and tips in Brawlhalla

Jiro Stats
Jiro’s stats have a huge focus on dexterity and speed, this makes him a bit tougher and less forgiving for newer players, but that isn’t a reason not to play him. The stance that we are going to be using on Jiro is defense because it is his lowest and weakest stat, or you could use speed if you are comfortable with low defense.
Basics of Brawlhalla combos
There are two types of attacks: light and signature
Light attacks are used for approaching an enemy.
Signature attacks are used for finishing an opponent.
Every legend has the same light attacks (if they have the same weapon), but signatures are different for every legend. Signatures are also referred to as sigs.

Jiro Best Combos, Strings and Signature Moves
Jiro’s kit consist of a scythe and sword. The scythe is a hard-to-master weapon and it is heavily reliant on dodge reads and strings. Meanwhile, the sword is a rather simple weapon that does have simple and complex combos as well.
Jiro’s scythe signature moves and special tactics
Scythe > nSig
Jiro creates shadow ninjas that connect their hits together, allowing Jiro to get the final blow . Great area coverage and decent range but relatively slow. Also, only hits airborne opponents, make sure you dont forget that. Great for edge-guarding or on-stage strings but it is easily predictable on edge. Launches opponents horizontally, finishes them at ~140%
Scythe > sSig
A great two-part signature that has great range and decent speed. You can pair it with a slide, use it for strings, etc.. Use it to your advantage but don’t spam it! Launches opponents horizontally and finishes them at ~140%.
Scythe > dSig
A tricky signature for sure, but it does come in handy at longer-ranged battles. Make sure however, that you know when to use it because it is easily missable if too close to the enemy. Other than that has decent area coverage and is relatively fast. You can use it at the edge, on stage strings and sneaky hits, etc… Finishes opponents at ~140%
Best Jiro scythe combos and strings.
Scythe is a really creative weapon so use that. Endless possibilities, dodge reads, strings, etc. In order to play with it, you have to utilize it to every extent. These strings are only an example of what you can do with scythe.
nLight > nAir
There are 2 variations of this string because nAir has active input. This is a basic string which can lead into many other, more complicated strings while it also racks up good damage. Possible at all percents.
sLight > nLight
The sLight also has active input (don’t press the forward button to perform the sLight for this combo). Also a good string starter, you can follow this up with nAir, sAir etc… or use Rec for it to become a kill option. Scythe is all about creativity and unpredictability. Possible at all percentages.
dLight > sLight
Basic string that can lead into many others, you should also try to mixup your options, so that is why we selected these three strings. Possible up to 110%
dAir > nLight > nAir > dLight > sLight
One of the many complicated scythe strings. Scythe is all about mixups, so make sure you experiment with your own custom and unique strings! This is just our example, and like every other complicated string with scythe, it will not always work. So make sure you practice and go wild!
dLight > Ssig
Great option considering it can hit your opponent's neutral and side dodge, racks up massive damage because of the side signature, has a crazy chance to hit your opponent and even kill them at earlier percentages because sSig has crazy and is also very easy to input! What more could you want? Possible up to 130% but it kills after 90%!

Jiro’s sword signature moves and special tactics
Sword > sSig
Jiro’s side signature is a relatively slow move that doesn’t have quite much range but it does have great area coverage, It does kill relatively early however, so make sure you use that to your advantage. You can also use it on stage for some dodge read strings, pair it with a slide offstage etc.. Make sure you don’t spam it however. Launches opponents horizontally, finishes them at ~140%.
Sword > nSig
The neutral signature is practically the same as the side signature, but vertical. Except now it has decent range and a lot of area coverage, isn’t it weird how a move becomes better if it hits vertically? But still the move is quite slow but it does last quite long. It does also hit grounded, if you are inside your opponent, which then launches them upwards whilst following Jiro. Good for edgeguarding, you should definitely abuse the length of the move for some dodge reads or strings. Launches opponents horizontally, finishes them at ~140%
Sword > dSig
Whilst it is unique, that doesn’t transpire into its usage and usefulness. Jiro spawns out a shadow ninja that runs at relatively slow speed whilst holding a sword. The move is somewhat situational, but it does have great range and area coverage, but it is relatively slow, and an easily punishable one. Launches opponents horizontally downwards, finishes them at ~150%.
Best Jiro sword combos and strings
dLight > Rec
The classic. Deals the most damage out of all the true combos. And is also a kill confirm that kills around 160%. Use this combo if you are in the middle of the stage, where the side-air won’t kill. Possible at all percentages.
dLight > sAir
Also a classic. Doesn’t deal as much damage as the recovery combo but it gets the job done. It kills a bit later then the recovery version, even if at the edge, but if hit at the edge your opponent is sent flying all the way to the blast zone, meaning he has to get back to the stage which gives you a way easier position to confirm the kill if somehow the enemy doesn’t die from the side-air. That is the advantage of the side-air. Possible at all percentages.
sLight > nLight
This is a string. It is the most used one as well. It gets the job done and racks up solid damage. Also can lead into an edge-guard if landed in the middle of the stage. It has a smaller dodge window than the dLight version which gives it a bit of an advantage. You can use it if you are confident in your edge-guarding and predicting skills, or just on stage for safe damage. Possible at all percentages.
sLight > dLight
This is also a string. You can use it if you want to follow up into a true combo kill after the dLight, or for racking up damage. We recommend using this one at higher percentages to get a kill confirm because of the 2 additional dodge windows. Possible at all percentages.
dAir > gC > nLight
This is a string. You can use it after a dAir hit and considering the nLight is a long lasting move, if your opponent neutral dodges, you will still hit them. You can then land into some other more powerful strings.
Possible up to 90%, after that you can use the nSig instead of the nLight, and the reason the nLight is better at earlier percentages is because it follows up into other strings.
