Nix stats and best stance

Nix stats and best stance

Nix has high defense and speed. Best stance is strength or defense, since dexterity doesn’t affect her weapons very much, and speed is not as straightforward.

Nix special tactics

Neutral game

Neutral game Nix Brawlhalla

During neutral you can play either defensive or offensive. Both are great ways to initiate a combo on the opponent. Nix kit is heavily reliant on executing gimps consistently and dodge reading. Gaining the upper hand can also be achieved by baiting and punishing careless players with some well placed signatures, mostly blasters nSig.

Offstage Game

Offstage Game Nix Brawhalla

The scythe really shines while floating, and can be used with a great degree of creativity to combo an opponent. Play aggressive and dodge read enemies, as a single mistake of theirs can give you an easy knockout.

The blasters can be used similarly, with an emphasis on creating space while juggling the enemy around. Do not forget to use sigs. Nix has a strong array of moves that can be used fairly effectively to deny jumps and dodges.

Edgeguarding

Edgeguarding Nix Brawlhalla

It can be done using the scythe or the blasters, but scythe is the most effective of the two as the strong denying capability of the weapon can be used to catch an opponent offstage.

Try to dodge read the opponent and if you manage to do so you can easily gimp him for massive damage or even a knockout. Nix has also powerful signatures that can be used to easily knockout  an enemy returning to stage.

Nix Signature Moves and special tactics

Blasters nSig

Nix shoots a grappling chain upwards, catching an opponent and throwing him downwards with great force. Highly telegraphed. Useful when playing off the edge to catch a recovering enemy or when edgeguarding.

Blasters sSig

After a brief moment to spin the gun, shoot two times while moving horizontally. A useful signature that can be used to chase an opponent on the ground or when weapon starving from a distance.

Blasters dSig

Nix shoots chains inside the ground and then pulls them up causing a considerable explosion that travels vertically. This signature hits two times: when the chains are shot and when the deflagration occurs. A useful signature that can be used as a combo finisher or when edgeguarding.

Scythe nSig

Point diagonally upwards to highlight an area. If an enemy is caught, Nix pulls him close to execute a quick scythe swing that throws the opponent diagonally upwards. This sig is fast and does a great deal of damage, but suffers from being telegraphed and hard to hit.

Scythe sSig

Nix starts floating and then dashes forward to execute a scythe swing that hits in an arch around her. Best used on a somewhat far away enemy, since the first part of the sig will not hit anything right around you.

Scythe dSig

Nix swings his scythe with great force horizontally, and throws any opponent hit in the same direction. Useful when contesting ground control.

Best Nix Scythe combos and strings

The Scythe is a great offensive weapon, capable of knocking out quickly using gimps and combos. Nix can use this playstyle to full capability thanks to her powerful sigs and favorable stats.

dLight > nSig

Execute to do a scythe grab that pulls an enemy first toward you and then throws him up. Follow up with a nSig to catch the opponent and throw him upwards with great force. Use it to catch a grounded player and deal a killing blow.

dAir > gc > dSig

Catch a near the ledge enemy and throw him downwards. Time a gc and proceed with a dSig to knockout an enemy. Must be used on an enemy at least red, or else the dAir won’t throw the opponent far enough.

sLight > nSig

A variation of the first combo, use it in similar circumstances and mix and match the two to catch an opponent after a dodge or on a dodge read.

The blasters are particularly effective when maintaining a certain distance from the opponent. Keeping the spacing favorable is necessary to be able to use the powerful combos that the weapon offers.

dLight > sSig

Shoot downwards and follow up with a sSig for an easy and strong combo that can kill an injured opponent. Use it on grounded enemies.

dLight > sLight > Chase Dodge > nSig

A position manipulation combo that will kill an enemy by throwing him downwards after a series of stuns. A short slide is needed for the killing blow.

dAir > gc > dSig

Catch a grounded enemy under you and then throw him upwards using the dSig. Great to fight a particularly single-minded opponent that likes staying on stage.
