Thor the god of thunder joined to fray from the stands as a representative of the asgardian gods, bringing in his legendary hammer Mjolnir and a powerful orb. Powerful signature attacks and a fairly diverse and effective set of weapons make him a great character to play.

Thor stats and best stance
Thor stats are sufficiently balanced, with a slight focus on strength and defense. Strength is especially useful, considering his arsenal of weapons that are greatly improved by enhanced damage.
Thor special tactics
Neutral game
The neutral is all about getting an advantage, and the orb and the hammer are great at finding opportunities.
Use the hammer to bait and punish enemies into combos, or throw yourself at the enemy with aggressive orb play. Hammer combos are especially good at throwing the enemy offstage, and using signature attacks to keep the aggression on is suggested. Speaking of signatures, try not to overuse them as the recovery time is quite long and dangerous.
Offstage Game
Air attacks can be used effectively to gain control offstage, and Thor is suited perfectly to the floaty playstyle.
Use the hammer grapple recovery to make every movement a threat, and remember to play around with gravity cancel and signature attacks.
The orb can be used similarly, throwing the enemy around with high force attacks and the awesome ground pound.
Edgeguarding
Thor’s hammer is a great tool, and can be used to play the edge thanks to the incredible moveset. Bait the enemy into a hammer combo, or go offstage to catch him with the grapple and the ground pound for a knockout.
The signature attacks are great to play defensively and prevent the enemy from returning to stage. Using the orb can also be done, as the versatility of the weapon and the high force of the attacks can kill an enemy easily.

Orb nSig
Thor leaps in the air diagonally and uses his orb as a battering ram to throw an opponent in the same direction with great force. Can be used in edgeguarding situations or to catch a floaty enemy. The signature is telegraphed and can be punished easily by an experienced player.
Orb sSig
Thor flails his orb and smashes it on the ground two times while traveling horizontally. Bread and butter signature, can be used on enemies keen on playing grounded.
Orb dSig
Thor leaps in the air and proceeds to jump with force in the ground, and then follow up with a devastating explosion. Not the most impressive signature, but can be used to catch an opponent unaware.
Hammer nSig
Thor channels the power of thunder in his hammer and lifts it upwards. If an enemy is hit he will be thrown slightly away from Thor, and take a modest damage. Can be used fairly effectively in edgeguarding situations.
Hammer sSig
Thor floats and then rushes forward, grabbing the first enemy hit and smacking it with the hammer. Great signature for ground play, can be used for edgeguarding too.
Hammer dSig
Thor floats and throws the hammer forward, making it spin and hitting every enemy caught up in the radius. Very useful in edgeguarding.
Best Thor Orb combos and strings
The orb is a string based, medium range weapon. The light attacks are fine, not the best, but it has great air attacks, like hammer and gauntlets, while also having a recovery that can make you travel great diagonal distance. This combination makes them one of the best edgeguarding weapons.
gc> nSig
Use the gravity cancel followed by a nSig to get back on the ledge when you are out of jumps. The dSig is heavily telegraphed, and a fast opponent could retaliate with a dLight or a ground pound.
Down Heavy Attack (dSig)
Use the dSig when edgeguarding to knock out an enemy returning to the stage. This signature will hit around Thor, and using it to float near the edge can catch players passing through.
nLight > chase dodge > sSig
Throw the enemy offstage and chase dodge into a side signature to kill him. Ground attacks such as this are especially useful against a ground based player, but can be countered by weapons with longer range such as blasters and rocket lance.

Best Thor Hammer combos and strings
The hammer is a strong hitting weapon with an amazing recovery and great air attacks capabilities. The light attacks have some true combos. Primarily a defensive weapon, it can be used to bait enemies into quick combos and position manipulation strings.
dLight > nSig
Use the hammer dLight and follow up with an nSig for a devastating knockout.
nLight > chase dodge > sSig
Use the nLight and follow up with a side dodge into a side signature for a rapid knock out.
Use this fast combo when dealing with an opponent that likes playing on the ground. The sSig can be quite finicky if you are too far away from the enemy, but if done at a sufficient damage level can guarantee a knockout.
Down Heavy Attack (dSig)
Use the dSig to end with swiftness an enemy returning to stage. Useful when using sparingly because if spammed the opponent will expect it and go under.
