Asuri stats and best stance

1

Asuri’s stats reflect her catlike nature, with her highest stats being dexterity and speed. While her strength is not exceptionally high, sitting at four her weapons allow for a fast and oppressive playstyle, not reliant on raw damage. Her defense is perfectly average.

Asuri special tactics

Neutral game

The Sword has low damage and high mobility. Play around the recovery or the side air for killing potential, and use neutral light and the side light to prepare the enemy for signatures or short combos.

2

Your main objective during the neutral game should be to throw the enemy away from the stage, and the Katars are perfect for achieving that. Dodge read the enemy or start a short Katars combo to juggle the enemy in a more favorable position using the side air or the side light and follow up with a neutral or down air to move the opponent around.

Offstage Game

Asuri has a powerful offstage, mostly due to her set of weapons. Play around the side air of the Katars to juggle enemies around and reverse your position with the opponent to gain a considerable advantage.

3

The Sword can be used as a longer reach approach, exploiting the generous hitbox of the weapon. The side air of the Sword is a valuable killing tool and will blast away opponents easily. Use it to deal with close enemies. The recovery is an excellent tool to get back to stage, if needed.

Edgeguarding

Dodge reading is extremely powerful when edgeguarding and the Katars are well suited for the job. Stand near the edge and catch a returning to stage player using either the side air or the neutral air, then follow up with a series of ground pounds and down airs for the killing blow.

4

The Sword ground pound and down light are another set of tools that will lead to easy kills by catching the enemy, but do not shy away from diving to chase the opponent and controlling the walls of the map.
