Blitzcrank
Blitzcrank is one of the best bully support champions in League of Legends, due to his hook and its ability to catch high-value targets and drag them into your entire team.
This hook is also the thing that makes Blitzcank an incredible catcher champion in LoL, as it needs no special follow-up in CC to cause the enemy champion to Flash away, or die if their Flash is not up!
Nautilus
Speaking of hooks, we have Nautilus, one of the best crowd-control champions in League of Legends, who can easily knock up the entire enemy team with his point-and-click ultimate, and whose every auto attack roots the enemy.
Getting caught by Nautilus means no further movement for 3 seconds straight, dooming anyone to die if Nautilus' allies are nearby! With a long-range hook, whose hitbox doesn't even make sense sometimes, and whose only weakness is walls, Nautilus can catch enemies when they least expect to get hit!
Thresh
With his kit making him one of the most versatile champions in League of Legends, Thresh can be both one of the best warden champions in LoL, as well as one of its best catchers!
His hook is aptly named the Death Sentence, while his Flay is an omnidirectional displacement that can pull enemies toward any direction, from any direction, into his ultimate that slows by 99%.
Just Nautilus, once Tresh catches you, there is no escaping becoming one of the souls he absorbs.
Pyke
The final hook champion on this list is also one that is the best roaming support champion of them all, made to help his allies by catching enemies and unloading his assassin class damage!
The one thing about Pyke, unlike the previous two catchers, is that he is also one of the best champions for kills in LoL. When he catches an enemy, it's worth two time the gold compared to anyone else, snowballing the entire game quickly.
Pantheon
Capable of being played in three roles, including the mid lane, top lane, and the support role, Pantheon can easily abuse his ultimate and W from either one of those, to catch enemies unaware, and stun them, so his allies can unload the damage!
Unlike the supports on this list, as a solo laner, Pantheon can be split pushing a side lane, and use his ultimate to catch an enemy who overextended thinking they have a numbers advantage!
Twisted Fate
A global ultimate, with auto attacks that can stun from range once he pulls his Gold Card, Twisted Fate is one of the best roaming mid laners, and one of the best catchers.
Unlike Pantheon who has to guess where his enemies are, if there is no vision, Twisted Fate's ultimate reveals all enemy champions on the map, allowing him to catch even the sneakiest of enemies!
Teemo
Widely regarded as one of the most annoying champions in League of Legends, Teemo provides excellent battlefield control for team fights. And he does it using the very thing that made him so infamous.
His mushrooms, when placed, go invisible, and upon detonation deal magic damage and slow enemies. Once Teemo prepares the area around an objective, peppering it with his mushrooms, it becomes a literal minefield!
Zyra
Like Teemo, Zyra creates a zone that only the best LoL tanks can go through, with her plants that apply the effect of the best burn items in LoL, such as Liandry's Anguish, and Demonic Embrace!
Just by standing in a spot, Zyra passively spawns seeds that sprout when she uses basic abilities. Add to that her two seeds from her W, and a well-placed Q ability from Zyra, can spawn enough ranged plants to zone the enemy squishy champions by themselves!
These plants clutter the battlefield, and block skill shots as well!
Heimerdinger
Heimerdinger does the same thing Zyra does, by using his turrets to clutter the battlefield and stop the enemy team from attacking easily.
Unlike Zyra's plants, his turrets last longer and are far tankier, capable of soaking up more damage. Where the usual strategy of ignoring the spawns until they expire works against most such champions, Heimer and his team can use his turrets as a mobile fortress.
Janna
Long-range AoE knock-ups are just not a thing in League of Legends, except when it comes to Janna, who has two of them. His her tornadoes and her ultimate, she can control the battlefield however she wants!
Her tornadoes can be placed and activated a few seconds later, stymying an enemy engage, while her ultimate works as a team fight reset button, forcing all enemies away and healing her allies.
Janna's battlefield control needs no preparation, and she is always ready to help her allies!
Anivia
While her ultimate is what defines this champion, being one of the best AoE abilities in League of Legends, it's not the ability that got her on our list.
Sure, it can control the battlefield and act as a deterrent, but her W does a far better job of doing so!
Her W, when cast, instantly spawns a wall of ice at the target location, displacing enemies, and walling them off.
Its size scales with levels, and while during the mid-game Anivia can only block off enemies on certain parts of the map, during the late game she can block any entrance, and even an entire lane's width easily!
Taliyah
With three abilities that can control a battlefield, Taliyah is by far the best control champion in LoL. Her W can throw enemies in a direction of her choosing, while her E places a field of mines that detonate when enemy champions dash through them.
Finally, her ultimate puts Anivia's wall to shame, as it acts both like a wall and a roaming tool. With it, Taliyah can arrive to the fight from anywhere, and split the enemy team in two, allowing her team to deal with two halves of the enemy team one by one!
