Val the Weapon, born as a man made machine became conscious and slowly took over the city of Miami as the head of the 5 houses. Now in Valhalla, she’s delighted to take part in the battle, and fights using a pair of gauntlets and a sword.

Val stats and best stance

Val statistics are organized precisely in a rising order of value, with strength being the lowest at four and speed being the highest, sitting at seven .

Val special tactics

Neutral game

Val has got an impressive duo of weapons that reward position manipulation combos. Her low strength stat is not friendly towards pure damage, and controlling the flow of the game is your best bet for gaining an advantage.

Using the gauntlet play around a bait and switch strategy, dodge reading the opponents or playing floaty to catch it off guard using the side air or the down air. The sword has longer attacks and permits a lot of airtime. Play around short combos that will put the enemy offstage: Use the side air as a killing move and the recovery and neutral air to juggle the opponent around.

Offstage Game

Val has got an effective offstage, thanks to the potential of her weapons. The Gauntlets and the sword both excel at aerial combat, and their strengths are more than enough to compensate for the low damage of the legend.

When using the gauntlets your approach should be forceful and bold, relying on aerial combos and catching your enemy flying.While attempting a return to stage is possible, you simply don’t need to. The gauntlets are better used to reverse the situation and throw the opponent offstage. The sword has got a fair amount of mobility, and attempting a return to stage is suggested. Play around your side air and your recovery.

Edgeguarding

Edgeguarding with Val is all about timing. The sword can be used to throw an opponent away from the stage or to deal around a short killing combo. The gauntlets are suited for a dodge read intensive playstyle or for short position manipulation combos.

Play around the side air and the down air to control the flow of the match when using the gauntlets, and the down air and ground pound with the sword.

Sword nSig

Val slashes upwards, and if it connects she will then proceed to deal another sword slash that will send the enemy flying. An amazing signature for edgeguarding and for wall control when offstage.

Sword sSig

Val charges horizontally, hitting everything in her path. The trajectory of the signature depends on her position. When used on the ground she will go horizontally. When used in front of a wall she will climb it. When near the edge she will first go horizontally and then slash downard.

Sword dSig

Val rotates while slashing with her sword. if an enemy is hit she will deal an additional powerful sword slash. A fairly slow recovery signature, useful for catching opponents off guard.

Gauntlets nSig

Val lifts up and then comes crashing down. This signature has an extreme force and will kill low health opponents easily.

Gauntlets sSig

Val rushes forward with her gauntlets dealing a blast of blue energy. A bread and butter signature that will be useful against grounded opponents.

Gauntlets dSig

Val throws a shuriken horizontally. If an enemy is hit she will then punch the opponents sending them flying upwards. This signature can be used to edgeguard fairly well.

Best Val sword combos and strings

The sword is a string based, low range weapon. An agile blade with a peculiar dashing and air juggling based playstyle, it’s the perfect partner for aerial combat and fast grounded gameplay.

dAir > nSig

Use the down air to position the enemy for a neutral signature that will most likely knockout low health opponents. Must be started from the air.

dLight > gc > nSig

A variation of the first combo that starts from downard, will throw the enemy further up.

nAir > nSig

Another variation of the first combo, will throw the enemy even further up before dealing the signature.

Best Val Gauntlets combos and strings

The gauntlets are a string based, low range weapon. They have great aerial juggle capabilities like scythe and hammer, while also having a sAir that keeps you floating like rocket lance. This combination makes them one of the best offstage weapons.

dLight > sSig

Use the dLight to briefly stun an enemy and then follow with a side light that will send the opponents flying horizontally.

A position manipulation combo that moves an enemy upwards before slamming it down offstage.
