Ascent is a very open map, and whilst that an work for some Initiator Agents, Fade can struggle. If she is chasing a deafened and trailed enemy, she does not want to be out in the open, but instead sneaking around ready to jump out and assassinate her enemies!
Best Attacking/Post Plant Fade Lineups
Attacking A Site Fade lineups
A site Haunt Watching A Link and A Garden from Mid Cubby
Stand against the second from the right line going down the wall in Mid Cubby. This lineup is risky as you will expose yourself to enemies lurking in Mid Link and Mid Bottom, so try to get your allies to smoke them off!
Then aim at the corner where the walls meet and aim diagonally upwards right into the clouds until your crosshair is loosely in line with the antenna on the right. It does not have to be exact, but it is still worth practicing a few times!
The good thing about this lineup is that it lands in the trees so can be quite difficult to spot, meaning that enemies might take an extra second to destroy it, which in Valorant, is a long time!
A site Haunt Post Plant Watching A Heaven
If you are in a post plant situation on A Site, this is an excellent lineup to watch A Heaven and enemies rotating from Defender Spawn. Stand on the enclosed side of the box on the left side of A Site, then aim at the right of the white mark and go down to about a quarter of the way up the black panel.
You want to turn around and throw the Haunt about halfway between the jutting out stone beam and the wall below. This will take some getting used to, so go into a practice game first!
The Haunt will be able to see over the walkway up to A Heaven as well as if any enemy agents come out of A Window. This saves your team an angle to watch as the Haunt will reveal enemies!
Attacking B Site Fade lineups
B site Haunt watching B Shed from B Main
Stand on the fish boxes in B Main directly in the middle. This lineup allows you to see over any enemies lurking along the Catwalk on B Site as well as any lurking in B Shed, meaning you can safely gather intel without a member of your team having to peek!
Aim at the left-hand side of the fish display on the wall, about halfway up. Line up your crosshair with the bottom of the top of the fish’s mouth along the darker outline. You then want to jump and throw the Haunt!
The lineup will land on the roof of the entrance to Mid Market from B Site and will spot enemies lurking in all the entrances to the actual B Site as well.
B site Haunt watching Mid Pizza from Mid Courtyard
Coming from Mid Courtyard, this lineup is very good for pushing B Site through Mid Market. Stand in the corner where Mid Catwalk meets the stairs and aim at the end of the small white canopy on the side of the building in Mid Bottom. You then want to run forward a few paces and throw!
The Haunt will land on the roof in Mid Pizza, revealing any enemies who are hiding there or in some of Mid Market. It will also reveal enemies in Defender Spawn, so if you want to use this later in the round to see if enemy agents are rotating through Defender Spawn, it is a very good lineup to know!

Best Defending/Retake Fade Lineups
Defending/Retake A Site Fade lineups
A site Defending Haunt Lineup Watching A Main and Mid Cubby from A Site
This lineup is best used at the beginning of a round if you are defending A Site. Lineup against the front of the box in the middle of A Site and aim at the top of the furthest right debris in the cluster in the sky, then run and jump throw. This lineup allows you to see if the enemy team is pushing A Site through A Lobby!
The Haunt lands on a wall, giving vision over A Lobby and A Main. It allows you to reveal enemy agents who are pushing A Site, and if there are none there, chances are they are pushing B Site instead so you can warn your teammates! It will also tell you if any enemies are in Mid-Cubby if they have rushed along Mid-Catwalk!
A site Defending Seize Lineup Tethering A Site
This Seize lineup can be used from the Back of B Heaven in the connector leading to Defender Spawn. Aim just above the left side of the top railing and throw!
The lineup will land in the corner on A Site, by the box. This is one of the most common and popular planting locations for Attackers on A Site on Ascent, meaning you will prevent anyone from planting here whilst your Seize is active!
Defending/Retake B Site Fade lineups
B site Defending Haunt Lineup Mid Courtyard From Mid Market
This lineup will help you defend B Site by being able to Reveal any enemies pushing through Mid Courtyard to Mid Bottom and B Site. Stand in the back left corner of Mid Market and aim at the bottom of the second horizontal beam. Place your crosshair halfway in between the first vertical beam and the fabric sheet then run and jump throw!
The Haunt will subsequently land on a roof in Mid Courtyard and will be able to tell you if any enemies are lurking or forcing a push through Mid. You can also gather intel for your team as the Haunt will Reveal any enemies pushing along Mid Catwalk to Mid Cubby and A Link.
B site Defending Haunt Lineup B Main From B Site
You need to stand to the left of the two green boxes on B Site and aim at the billboard above B Main. Aim into the middle of the billboard, where the furthest brown rock meets the white curve, and then into the middle of that meeting.
This should be a nice and easy lineup that lands in the window and will immediately Reveal any enemies pushing from Attacker Spawn on B Side through B Main to B Site.
Finishing off on a simple lineup, let us know if you had figured any of these out for yourself, and we would love to hear about any Fade Ascent lineups you have come up with not on this list! We have a bunch of lineup guides for other Valorant Agents for Ascent as well:
