How to rank up from Iron 1

Play the game

Most of the time, players that find themselves in this rank, are there because they lack fundamentals and don't play enough. If you are new to FPS games, you might need some time to pick up the fundamentals. And there’s no better way to do that than playing the game more!

Game objectives

There are two ways in which you can win a round in Competitive mode and you need to win 13 rounds to win the game. Your team has to either eliminate all of the opponents or complete the given tasks.

The attacking team is trying to plant the spike on a spike site within the minute and 40 seconds the round lasts, and the defending team should try to prevent this.

Practice

Nobody is born with certain skills, they are all learned. And the same stays true for playing FPS games. Practicing and playing is the only sure way to improve. There are tons of apps that can help you with this, and Valorant has its own practice range, where you can learn all of the basics.

Aim

Since the main goal of the game is to eliminate the other team before they do the same to you, you will need to learn how to shoot. Aim is a general term used to describe several skills and techniques necessary to be better at shooting.
